Cook Islands: barely mentioned as offshore country?

Hi all

I have seen a few offshore architectures involving Seychelles and Belize, and a spontaneous question popped up in my mind (I guess it's kind of a newbie question, as it is very generic and could be also seen as kind of "is a metric nut wrench better than a imperial nut wrench" question).

During my Internet researches, the Cook Islands are promoted as offshore destinations that offer strong protection of assets and high levels of discretion. I am aware it's marketing talk, so in real life, are there any true "unique selling propositions" for that destination?
Or, on the other hand, are there too many practical drawbacks to make it an attractive option for an offshore architecture?
