Wait what?

Gary Harrington built 3 reservoirs on his own 170-acre property to collect rainwater & snowmelt for fire protection. The state said: "Drain it. All water belongs to us." He refused. They hit him with 9 misdemeanors, 30 days in jail, and a $1,500 fine. This is government ownership of the sky!

I know some of you are mad intelligent and my question is: What goes through your head when you all read these crazy "government" stories? 🙄

We should not expect our enemy to gift us with anything, or even to remain quiet if we don’t do anything “wrong”. The enemy will always try to steal from us, every kind of property we own.
So this doesn’t surprise me. In fact, what is surprising is that in some places some things are still “free” to own and/or use.
The enemy is the state, in its every form and declination.

agree. Especially in USA, these days, one should be extremely careful when picking a state to live and invest in...

state/government/HOAs whatever in the USA can be a PITA almost to Swiss levels if you pick the wrong location.

Not that EUSSR is much better... that could happen in many EU countries depending on location.
Heck a friend almost got jailed cause he built a small (like really small) fish pond in concrete in his garden...
they raided his home like he was a serial killer or whatever... and it was for that small concrete pond.
They were envious as he was the only one with some land around his house... and that's how they reason: if we cannot have it, then he can't too!
people lost the plot pretty much everywhere. that's why usually I like to have lots of land around villas where I live long term... so they can't see what i do and can't limit my freedom...

yeah, that thing marked my own private road as public...
cars (foreigners only, locals know their limits...) were coming inside my property when they found the gate open daily since it's been added to maps...
I told google to remove it from the map: no answer. I did their way of marking it as private road on their app, i think one year has passed and still no changes... the petition is still on going.
At least now it shows up just as a road in the map view, but now doesn't allow to navigate there...
Well I close the main gate now (it's automated anyway, first world problems 🤣 )

also another stupid thing... it marks every building it detects, even small ones in the map view , even if they're not houses 😡
