Chile Hit by 8.8 Earthquake, Tsunami Alert Issued (Update4)

Chile was rocked by a magnitude 8.8 earthquake, the USGS said on its Web site. A tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center for Chile and Peru, and later extended to Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Antarctica.
