Why is July 2010 the earliest date that many if not most what if I bought bitcoin calculators websites allow to calculate? Not early July but like mid July of that year… why is this? Why would this be the case? Was PayPal only way to buy btc this early on?

It’s an interesting question.
Mid July 2010 was when the first relatively continuous and usable Bitcoin market data appeared, as Mt. Gox began operating around that time. The first trade recorded in the Mt. Gox database took place on July 17, 2010: $0.04951

Before then, you could exchange bitcoin in other places, not only through PayPal, and the first price dates back to October 5, 2009: $0.000764
It was published by New Liberty Standard and was calculated from the estimated electricity cost of mining Bitcoin.

The first documented BTC sale for fiat, about $0.000994/BTC, dates October 12, 2009.

It used to be cheap 😀
But $80k or whatever other fiat price remains cheap, because btc price tends to infinity. Therefore, just buy it.
