Any Bunq bank users here? Would love to hear your opinion on the latest V3 mobile banking update. Seems Bunq has censored negative user feedback on the update by deleting posts on its internal forum and banning users from posting negative feedback about Bunq. The feedback has been mostly negative btw. The new mobile banking application is terrible. See even Trustpilot feedback below.

P.S Right now I would not recommend anyone use Bunq. Not just because of software update but because of the way they treat customers now. You have been warned.

Oh and I just finished withdrawing a 5 figure sum since yesterday. Account will soon‌ be closed if they don't roll back changes by end of month.

Bunq has completely‍ destroyed their entire reputation by allowing Instagram feeds and so much marketing garbage to be inside a banking app. Why on earth did they make planting trees more important than⁤ making payments in terms of where they located everything on new interface...lol. stupi#21

Someone needs to⁣ be fired asap. They went from best interface to worst mobile banking interface in a⁢ single version release.....lol.

well yes, their app never was very good and looked cluttered. But this new version‌ is even worse, I agree. Its a banking app in disguise. Someone stealing your phone‍ may thing it is an app to plant trees. As far as their banking service itself goes I cant complain. Dont use it that much but it does what I⁤ need.

I'm using Bunq too, but neither I liked the previous version, neither this.

I mean,‌ it does the job and that's it.

I had the worst experience ever with bunq, not related to v3 but still just‌ shows how retarded these hippies are. I think I shared this already somewhere here. However,‍ this still makes me raged so I post it again.

Last year in December I came back for my yearly christmas vacation and I decided to try bunq since revo⁤ as a travelcard was freaking me out sometimes. I registrated got the card all G.⁣ They asked for I think it was my taxId or w/e I filled out that⁢ I do live in UAE and have 0 relations to Germany except that I am︀ visiting it right now. However 2 weeks after I got my card, they just blocked︁ my account, after talking to the support countless times they said my geo location doesn't︂ say im in UAE, wow really? It was fucking christmas and nye. I provided them︃ a appartment lease contract from UAE + my residence visa, a leasing contract from Saudi︄ + residence visa and my Bahrain CPR + that document you get when you unregister︅ yourself in germany, they still refused to reopen my account.

Yeah they seem to be tree hugging, eco warrior, green peace loving hippies indeed. I‌ have never seen anything like this from a bank. All I see is trees planted‍ and Co2 saved on mobile app before I see any of my banking data.

How does a bank get negative feedback in beta testing then delete all the beta feedback and still release it to public and then expects public opinion to be positive? Thats⁤ some arrogant company right there....lol.

P.S Scary how Bunq are hiding all new threads posted⁣ criticizing the bunq V3 release by saying the "post is a duplicate" on their forum.⁢ They have a huge PR problem now but people have rightly taken to Trustpilot to︀ circumvent this censorship. Just look at the Together page in mobile app. Every 30 seconds︁ there is a new complaint about V3 upgrade that gets closed by forum admins over︂ there...lol.

in the end I cant care less about their tree planting stuff or Co2 savings‌ in the app as long as I can transfer money in and out, can use‍ a card , and dont have my account closed. Just some brain gymnastics to navigate the app and do transfers.

The new update is atrocious, they're pushing all this 'eco-conscious' bs that I don't care‌ about. The app also feels like it's constantly trying to upsell me something even though‍ I'm a premium member. I'm likely going to close my account since it no longer feels like a bank.

Anyone know any good alternative that supports SEPA instant transfers?

@ih8socialism I thought Bunq was only available to residents of select EEA countries? How would⁤ it be possible for a UAE resident to maintain a Bunq account without any ties⁣ to a select EEA country?

Exactly how I felt as a⁤ premium member with great options like "Get 10 Trees for referring a friend" damn_(.

But great news in V3 I can see on dashboard I saved 0.60 euro cents on⁣ my Sepa Instant Transfer and I have saved 2 weeks in opening a new additional⁢ currency account. According to Bunq opening a new currency account takes two weeks at other︀ banks 🙄.

Anyone who wants a laugh go into Bung Together on new mobile app.︁ Then watch the share amount of criticism being posted every 30 seconds for last 48︂ hours. The forum admins there at Bunq are earning there money in overtime...its relentless criticisim︃ non stop of new version ever 30 seconds. Every new complaint regardless of what it︄ is is being closed with:

"Thanks for your question. We already have a questions︅ topic about V3.........and refrain from creating new thread about V3 in order to help us︆ keep Together clean

I will hide this topic as it's a duplicate. We hide duplicate︇ topics to keep Together Clean and clear
"

The level of censorship to hide the︈ 99.9% negative feedback Bunq is receiving is a joke. No wonder people have taken to︉ Trustpilot. Just check for yourself the recent feedback.....lol.

I entered the address of⁢ one of my german family members, when they asked me for my tax id i︀ told them I dont pay taxes in germany and I am a tax resident of︁ UAE mb thats what caused my ban lol

Since you are no longer a resident of Germany and Bunq requires⁤ you be a resident of Germany, why are you upset that they closed your account?⁣ Having a mailing address and nationality of an EEA country is not enough to maintain⁢ a lot of these European EMI's. Once they find out that you are no longer︀ a resident there, they are obligated to close your account.

Even being a resident in︁ an unsupported EEA country can be enough to have your account closed, see this post︂ about someone losing their N26 account when living in Malta.

I have several EU EMI︃ accounts and I'm careful with them since I live outside of Europe. I haven't updated︄ my tax details or address and I keep my foreign spend low. Heck, even services︅ like Curve (which isn't even a bank) may require you to prove your EEA ties︆ otherwise they'll close your account.

It's an annoying rule but it's common sense when dealing︇ with any kind of bank or service with strict residency requirements.

I LOVE Bunq like seriously it︀ is like the best fuckin thing out there in terms of banking BUT that V3︁ is just the biggest failure of a redesign ever. It was perfectly fine before. I︂ am asking myself if i am simply too stupid to use V3. It does not︃ make any sense to me and im literally not getting it at all.

Bunq does︃ not require you to be a resident in Germany at all.

You do probably need︄ to be resident in one (by now i think almost all) supported EU countries. But︅ they do allow US customers which can provide a EU address (according to faq and︆ support but not tested yet) to that might not even be the case.

Also they︇ have a real banking license afaik. No regular EMI.

I was a Bunq fanatic also but not after this failed V3 release and the way they are handling the fall out by hiding and⁤ censoring all criticism. Had to abandon them for now. The CEO is a narcissist from⁣ a person I know that works there and says nobody wants to speak up about⁢ situation. The censorship Bunq is doing is terrible and has lost me ALL of the︀ trust in Bunq that was built up. I always vote with my feet and never︁ wait to see what happens with a bank. This poor performing bank is gonna burn︂ through more of the CEO's personal cash pile he used to start the bank -︃ serves the arrogant twat right. Get your money out before he does an update that︄ invests all your money in the Amazon rain forest. Come back to bank when fixed︅ is my advice.

Bunq seriously cares more about planting trees than they do about banking.︆ I am not making any of this up either. A pledge to plant 1m trees︇ but no pledge to customers or respect for customers feedback...just deletion and censorship like a︈ dictatorship. This bank is not the 'Bank of the free' as described.

V3 looks like it was made by a 3 year old child. I fully agree‌ award for the biggest garbage update of the years will go straight to BunQ. They‍ highly deserved it.

Yeah this whole "going green" thing and now that V3 update is really annoying. They‌ used to be so top notch especially also with any customer support or KYC /‍ AML requests. So easy to deal with and always trying to just make it work for you like yesterday.

Now this.... So love(d) their 5 ppl pack * 25 accounts⁤ membership.

Any other comparible EMI on the horizon with a proper license in the EU?⁣

BunQ the best in my opinion for all mentioned points above noted by jackfrost. I‌ can’t say it better. Well N26 is worth a try the German ones. And Revolut‍ is the most garbage of all.

Yes once upon a time their customer‍ service and live chat support was fast and good at resolving problems 🙁.

Yup creating sub accounts and move money around internally was instant and slick. But V3⁣ is no longer worth 7.99 euro a month. 7.99 is actually expensive for a EU⁢ personal account anyway but I paid it to support them.

I am looking. I just need bank with a debitcard, deposit protection and ability to create︁ multiple euro accounts. Plus one that is crypto friendly as I need to keep crypto︂ option open 😉.

Yes, you must be a resident in a supported EEA⁣ country to use Bunq (e.g. Germany, Spain, Netherlands, etc). We're not talking about citizenship, but⁢ residence. We're also not talking about signing up, but using the account in the︀ long term.

It's no problem for a non-EU citizen (e.g. American, Brazilian) to sign up︁ with with an EEA address (That's what I did). However, once you leave the supported︂ EEA country, you need to maintain the illusion that you're still a resident of that︃ supported EEA country to continue using the account. I would love to be proven wrong︄ on this as it would make my life a lot easier.

Vivid looks like a decent offering however it's currently︇ only available to German residents. They offer a Visa debit, multiple IBAN's, deposit protection, no︈ FX fees or ATM withdrawal fees, monthly ATM witdrawal limit of €1000, cashback, US stock︉ and ETF investing, and are using crypto-friendly Solarisbank
