Just a few minutes ago, I heard about Bluesky and checked out the site, it looks almost identical to X/Twitter, basically a Twitter (aka X) clone.

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but are any of you using Bluesky? And does the world really need yet another platform to carry all the noise?

Winners never quit and quitters never win....

Nope. It was started by Jack Dorsey so no doubt it looks like it.

But why in world I would want to go to a platform made for childless cat ladies with blue and pink hair? Unless you miss insufferable days of woke Twitter before Musk took over, forget about it.

Do what you want, where you want. Use the websites and services you want for‌ the purpose you want.

Competition and decentralization are good. More platforms. More websites. This benefits‍ everyone.

So far, Bluesky feels like a refuge for people who don't like what Twitter has become. I don't think dyeing your hair is mandatory. But if you dye your⁤ hair anything other than a natural color, you might like Bluesky more than Twitter.

It's just an echo chamber safe space for salty liberals who are mad that Elon‌ is rich and protected freedom of speech

It's basically a place where progressives/liberals can have their say. I once created an account‌ for fun just to check it out, but I don't find it very user friendly.‍ Besides, it doesn't have that many users, a couple million at the most

you have right.‍ I have never heard of them at anytime before now.

Yep, you've hit‍ the nail on the head. I still hop on all of them (X/Mastodon/Bluesky) since they're actually pretty solid for intel and keeping up with what's happening.

There's definitely good stuff⁤ if you know where to look, but honestly if you're happy just sticking with X,⁣ you're not really missing out on anything major.

I always wondered how do people do that 😀 - seems like one big‌ heap chaos to me - I never really found a way how to efficiently consume‍ all that without getting headache on top

Yeah, totally valid point. The key is being super selective about it. I basically just use it to follow legit⁤ security researchers and companies I trust, and stick to that. Won't touch anything else on⁣ there.

The infosec communities on these platforms are honestly unbeatable when it comes to getting⁢ current intel, they're usually way ahead of the commercial solutions in breaking news and updates.︀

Radical left-wing bubble network.
Why is there a bluesky share button on the bottom of‌ a thread?
highly doubt that any of us capitalists is registered there.

agree, they should remove it here or replace it with X

I honestly do not agree. Let's say that there are two networks, one which mirrors your ideology and one which is completely the opposite. Now, it is⁤ a bit like with this discussion. Are you just looking to get some likes⁣ to boost your broken ego? Or do you want to engage in a real discussion⁢ where there is a thesis and an anti-thesis, eventually evolving into a sythesis and development︀ of humanity?

Of course, you need to share it on Bluesky. Maybe, you'll get less︁ likes but posting outside the bubble may convince the one or the other of your︂ point of view!

I don’t get much benefit from either platform, other than breaking news updates from reliable‌ sources, which I can read without an account.

I already think this forum should be closed to the public, but to directly share offshorecorptalk‌ content with the enemy is insane
