Just a few minutes ago, I heard about Bluesky and checked out the site, it looks almost identical to X/Twitter, basically a Twitter (aka X) clone.

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but are any of you using Bluesky? And does the world really need yet another platform to carry all the noise?

Winners never quit and quitters never win....

Nope. It was started by Jack Dorsey so no doubt it looks like it.

But why in world I would want to go to a platform made for childless cat ladies with blue and pink hair? Unless you miss insufferable days of woke Twitter before Musk took over, forget about it.

I have never heard about bluesky! I don't need it.

If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability!
My personal favorite thread posted in the Mentor Group. Group of investment companies to avoid licensing.

Do what you want, where you want. Use the websites and services you want for the purpose you want.

Competition and decentralization are good. More platforms. More websites. This benefits everyone.

So far, Bluesky feels like a refuge for people who don't like what Twitter has become. I don't think dyeing your hair is mandatory. But if you dye your hair anything other than a natural color, you might like Bluesky more than Twitter.

This is the probably the answer to your question.

It's just an echo chamber safe space for salty liberals who are mad that Elon is rich and protected freedom of speech

It's basically a place where progressives/liberals can have their say. I once created an account for fun just to check it out, but I don't find it very user friendly. Besides, it doesn't have that many users, a couple million at the most

Yep, you've hit the nail on the head. I still hop on all of them (X/Mastodon/Bluesky) since they're actually pretty solid for intel and keeping up with what's happening.

There's definitely good stuff if you know where to look, but honestly if you're happy just sticking with X, you're not really missing out on anything major.

I always wondered how do people do that 😀 - seems like one big heap chaos to me - I never really found a way how to efficiently consume all that without getting headache on top

Yeah, totally valid point. The key is being super selective about it. I basically just use it to follow legit security researchers and companies I trust, and stick to that. Won't touch anything else on there.

The infosec communities on these platforms are honestly unbeatable when it comes to getting current intel, they're usually way ahead of the commercial solutions in breaking news and updates.
