I'm not a historian of financial institutions, this is how I remember it but I might be wrong, if so please correct me: the original Bitwala became Nuri when it partnered with Celsius and Solaris, and after some time closed all the accounts. Then it became again Bitwala, I don't remember for what reason I couldn't reopen an account with them, maybe because they were only accepting German clients.
I will try to reapply, it seems that they are again open for normal business.

This is why I'm not using it now:

iOS App Store registered in the UK.
Does anyone know how I can download the app without changing the Store setup? (I would apply as EU resident)

I just tried downloading the app from Switzerland, and it works fine- I can start using the account. They also offer to transfer your info from your 'Nuri' account to Bitwala if you already have one.

Apple's system requires the entire phone to be set up for the country you're in, so even if you're from Denmark, you'd need a Danish credit card to keep it on the Danish App Store. In my opinion, it's a frustrating / shitty system”¦ probably why you're having these issues.

If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability!
My personal favorite thread posted in the Mentor Group. Group of investment companies to avoid licensing.

correct. debit cards also do the trick. So it pays off having many bank cards from places.

I managed to download the app and apply as a former nuri account holder. KYC is stuck for 2 weeks now, no answer from customer service. But of course they actively spam my mailbox.

Check the Terms and Conditions.
It used to be a German operation with 200+ employees, but now it's essentially a white label of an Estonian crypto exchange, Striga, and an Estonian prepaid card provider, Wallester.

Not saying it's bad. It's probably good for diversification, but I don't think you can expect top market rates and service.

It was actually the Striga compliance officer that you were dealing with, most likely, since it's a Whitelabel.
It's good to keep in mind when you stumble upon another whitelabel of theirs, so you don't waste time.

does it mean they are worthless to use and waste your time with the application process or can they be used for regular e-com business in general ?

Can you explain just a little more what you mean with that sign ?
