What residency would you use for the Wise personal account outside the EU to have a multi-currency account?

I think Thailand, and Indonesia should work well, but you will really have to verify that you live there, they are checking it now.

UAE wise doesn't provide multi currency acccounts.

Thanks for the links. Georgia and Thailand seem like easy options. I have bank accounts in both countries, and I have a driving license in Thailand, and I can get one in Georgia for sure.
Why they don't have the UAE in the list?

Damn they even have China, WTF

Which bank do you use in Georgia and Thailand? Do you have a residency in Thailand for the driving licence?

They do not offer the world account, apparently.

Ya my Wise account was completely crippled when I had a residency in the UAE. Royalty owns banks and communication and are important pressure points for controlling a people.

I had EU wise, and once I opened a Wise app with the UAE IP, they started a KYC process, requesting EU residency, address etc.

I had an old EU address on my wise account. They, 6 years after the account opening, decided to ask me for a proof of address... I had moved to the uae by now. I changed to my uae address, not knowing they do not provide service to uae residents.
Well, 3 mn after the address change I received an automatic email saying I had to empty my balance and close my account blablabla.
I changed back the address to the EU one in minutes lol
Since then (6 months ago), they still are waiting for the proof of address and have restricted the account (cannot send of receive transfer) but I still can use the cards.

Do you have any actionable advice on how to achieve this?

Go to Thailand, find a company that helps with your driving license, pay 10,000 THB, get your Thai driving license, enjoy.

Same you can do in Indonesia, even more straightforward.

Do they accept bank statements as address proof?

Before we can verify your account, we need to know that you have the right to live in your country of primary residence. This is so that we meet local regulations.

You'll need to upload a document that shows your right to residency. We can accept the following:

Ӣ Your passport's photo and visa pages
Ӣ Your driving licence (both sides)
Ӣ Your residence permit (both sides)
You can see the full list of documents we'll accept when you go to upload yours.

What did it show there? What is your citizenship? You are not European?

I haven't provided anything yet. I will use a Thai driving license since it gives a multicurrency account, and wise doesn't really bother you. I don't want to have the EU address there.
