Accounting and audit in Hong Kong

Hi all,

Thought I'd make a thread for discussion regarding accounting and auditing in Hong Kong. I have a background in accounting and would be more than comfortable doing my own accounting for a company incorporated in Hong Kong. Does anyone know if there are firms that will let you do your own accounting?

Anyone have any specific info regarding the pricing of an annual audit? I understand it's not always cheap; I have found this brochure from SBCincorp which says 6,000 HKD for just the audit which seems pretty ludicrous to me. Anyone have previous experiences and willing to share some basic info regarding services received and pricing?

As i know accounting * auditing fee for HK is very crazy.
actually, 6000 HKD is good price.
Please update your experience because i'm also concern about that.
There is any hidden fee?

Agreed, 6,000 HKD is good for an audit. I'd guess it's the starting price and it goes up from there with number of transactions.

Best you can do is look at your business and estimate how many transactions you will have per year (and plan ahead for 2-3 years). Then go around and ask different CPAs for quotes.

Do you think that any CPA will allow me to do the accounting and preparation of reports myself and the only work they do is the actual audit itself? I'd honestly prefer that since I know how to do it, and I'm wondering if that can cut down on any fees...
