UK offshore banks for crypto to fiat withdrawal

Bumping this. Anyone has any experience offramping via Barclays International (form Kraken)? I am not a EU resident so pretty sure they would be happy to open an account for me (they did it in the past) but I need to know whether they would also be happy to be an offramp from crypto before i...

    Thailand 0% tax

I guess the question is whether there is a jurisdiction nowdays where one can set up a company and as such is allowed to trade in the main crypto and tradfi venues (Binance, CB, Kraken, IBKR) take part in seed deals and do VC activity while being in thailand under Elite Visa. Assuming one has...

UK vote to scrap non-dom status unsuccessful and millionaires flee UK anyway

UK wont be so attractive for long. Permanently declining productivity, massive trade balance deficit, some of the largest pockets of povery in all western world, just self suicided by exiting the largest single market in the world. They will have to raise taxes as there is very little meat left...

Digital Nomads, Biz owners in Bangkok

Yes. Generally speaking you dont want to be in the position where you depend on contacts to fight for you within institution, because there are many, many things that can go wrong with it outside the scope/capabilities of even someone as Fred (I'm one of his clients btw). This is why I was...

Digital Nomads, Biz owners in Bangkok

think SG probably best options though i think regulations changed last year and some prop desks moved. Dubai I am pretty sure it's less than ideal and works around are not ideal either. HK would be interesting and only a relatively short flight from thailand if needed. thanks for your input

Digital Nomads, Biz owners in Bangkok

yes of course I understand that. Just the first setup seems fully legit as long as you pay yourself the following calendar year, whereas the second is fully reliant on thai tax mean being slack as usual. I wonder if one trades and invests in crypto for a living where setting up a company only...

Is the first setup more bulletproof than the second or am i wrong in thinking this?

    EUR/USD exchange rate

LMAO China couldn't even come up with a working vax, a lot of thier hitech progress was copy pasting industrial secrets from the west, military is well behind that of US, there are still 500m people living in medieval conditions, real estate is 33% of its GDP and its just beginning to burst...

Dubai vs Switzerland for Third world country Rich immigrant ?

Tbh if taxes are not a concern anymore, i dont think any place beats Europe in terms of quality of life. If they are looking for less corrupt govts and burocrats, then I'd say Netherlands, Singapore, NZ.

HSBC UAE and HSBC Global Money - two questions

Ok two basic question for those who use HSBC in Dubai for personal baking. 1) As I mentioned in another thread I would like to transfer EUR from a EU bank into HSBC UAE and only then convert them in AED (at market rate, possibly w/out a horrific fx spread) and later on doing the inverse...

Moving funds from crypto CEX to UAE bank..cheaper, safe and legit alternatives to my current system?

Will DM but please note that I have been a long standing client of the bank, have used it to cash out from crypto since 2017/2018, and I regularly purchase some of their structured products and give them some fees so that they consider me a good client and go the extra mile for me (something...

Digital Nomads, Biz owners in Bangkok

oh that was 3-4 years ago and I used the single entry (2months +1 renewal) twice with a week in malaysia in between, then went elsewhere in SE Asia until the following calendar year, came back to thailand and did again the whole 3+3. Was not planning to move my domicile there or anything, but...

Moving funds from crypto CEX to UAE bank..cheaper, safe and legit alternatives to my current system?

dm'd you if i read correctly the quotes they are giving it seems like they are taking about a 0.55% cut, so pretty much the same i get from my bank or slightly higher. interesting none the less, will drop them a message just in case they offer better quotes in private. Thanks. Last edited...

Digital Nomads, Biz owners in Bangkok

Surprised to read that so many prefer Dubai to Thailand! I spent a year in both and much prefer the latter (admittedly i spent only a month in BKK as I prefer smaller places when i can chose), and know quite a few others that do the same. Depends what you are looking for but islands like Koh...

Moving funds from crypto CEX to UAE bank..cheaper, safe and legit alternatives to my current system?

Mmm just a quick Q following another thread I just read here. I am a Dubai tax resident and live in Dubai more than 183 days a year. So far my route for sending funds to my UAE bank has been: 1) withdraw EUR from Kraken to EU bank 2) send EUR from EU bank to Wise 3) convert EUR to AED on Wise...

    Crypto friendly countries

Netherlands is deffo not crypto friendly tax-wise, as much as portugal wasnt even before new tax announcement. If your main source of income is coming from crypto, you will be taxed about 45% in both countries (assuming highest braket). Main source of income means even 3 trades a year, as long...

Dubai / Bali - Real estate

Very well put. Also its good to keep in mind that the overwhelming majority of buildings, including the newer ones from Emaar and Meraas tend to have low standards of quality, meaning that the owner is likely to incur in significant maintenance costs down the line. Therefore if one is to do a...

Dubai resident - want to withdraw USD from centralised crypto exchange to HSBC UAE - anyone had any issues?

No havnt done it. Was thinking of the possibility of buying a flat here rather than spending 50k a year in rent, but kinda decided otherwise and will just keep transferring money from EU bank. There's always this scammy feeling about investing in real estate in Dubai I just cant get over it

Dubai resident - want to withdraw USD from centralised crypto exchange to HSBC UAE - anyone had any issues?

Funnily enough I know the head of compliance at Rain, but never really used the exchange. Might be time to give it a try if I was also to open an account with ENBD. Last time I checked ENBD was problematic with opening business accounts, I wonder if they are less difficult with personal accounts
