That's misleading information actually - you still need to have the Residence Visa stamped otherwise you get into trouble because they need very long for the Emirates ID currently.

So the guys who think they are "smarter" then everyone else are stuck at Airport and they get forced to get it stamped to the passport.

Further... not ANY Bank did adopt this new Rule and every Bank wants to see the Visa IN the Passport stamped.

The change applies to six out of the seven Emirates? I wonder how this difference came about.

Volume - the volume with small emirates compared to Dubai is close to nothing and again now having fun with getting anything rolling for an Ajman or Fujairah Company when you have to pressure them to stamp the Visa to be able to open a Business Bank Account.

Update : Dubai also scraps visa residency passport stamps

“We wish to inform you that as part of the latest directives, the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) will revoke stamping the residence visa in the passport. Effective Monday, December 12, 2022, the Emirates ID will replace residence visa stickers,”

Starting tomorrow they are absolutely gone while earlier it was optional - we hope that the banks adopt it starting tomorrow as well to not have a backlog - everything comes down to the banking.

We even got the confirmation that existing stickers can be removed without issues which of course drives up the privacy aspect a lot.
