Don't know if the guy is single or family, and how he lives, small apartment + public transport, or big apartment down town and a expensive car.
A single person would need 5-6000 euro net a month to have any decent life in CH/DE, a family of 4 at least 10K income with public schooling. Can halve those amounts if you live a borderline basic life.
Also migrating to other countries to save 5-10% on tax, never made any sense to me, I personally think︀ migration works and is worth it only if you can save a few millions a︁ year which with most EU trying to level up taxations, would be hard.
Other Eastern︂ Europe countries are ok only if you are used to poor life conditions, corruption and︃ unfunctional gov. otherwise a normal sane EU person would not move there unless as a︄ part of criminal activities or is loaded with dubious millions which wouldn't last long.

I sort of share this opinion. Most high tax western EU countries have so many 'write-off'︃ opportunities that you can still benefit a lot simply staying put. It really only makes︄ sense to shift your tax base if you are in a situation where you will︅ gain substantially more revenue (i.e. larger market access, opportunity to buy a business etc.) but︆ if the business is some mickey mouse online thing like dropshipping /affiliate marketing/day-trading etc. you're︇ likely better off not relocating. Of course if you want to relocate just for a︈ change of scenery/lifestyle, that could be worth while, but I don't think tax-alone should be︉ the driver behind such decisions.

If they really worked for me i.e. they would open the doors when I enter and leave their offices, roll out red carpets for my visit and kneel down in front of me...

I don't think you have a very good definition of what communism is, according to statistics we are moving further away from communism year by year in the EU.
Both PIT and CIT rates have been on a decline for the last 25 years. In 1995 the average PIT rate in the EU was 47% now 37.8% and︀ the CIT rate was 35% and now 20.7%, the only that did increase in most︁ countries where VAT rates, which is the least harming tax there is.
A lot of︂ countries are on their way of legalizing cannabis and some EU countries already have, this︃ is something that would never happen in a communist country.
But the whole COVID situation︄ indeed would make you think the EU is a communist place, but except for some︅ dictator shithole countries all countries will probably implement vaccine certificates at some point, it's not︆ just the EU. The reason for this is because of the socialist healthcare systems in︇ almost all EU countries, there is just no incentive with a socialist healthcare systems to︈ up IC beds and hire more people to facilitate the higher demand for healthcare due︉ to this pandemic, it's just a lot easier and cheaper to do lockdowns and force︊ people to vaccinate. Also a lot of the eastern EU countries don't tend to give︋ a f**k about the whole virus, look at Hungary for example.
And I don't see︌ any high alarming rate of wealthy people or the "elite" flocking outside the EU.

Indeed well said. While the EU may not be perfect, the overall model︊ works pretty well. Yes taxes can be on the high side, but so are the︋ opportunities to make good money and live a good life. High tax countries in Western︌ Europe have their fair share of billionaires living there, so it's not only about taxes.︍ More often than not, it's actually easier to raise capital in high tax countries and︎ leverage your investments for mutual wealth creation than it is in island-based offshore tax havens️ and to me this is the road to wealth creation: by collectively creating value instead of trying to save a few grand on taxes!

most of people that have made a lot of money and that I know did not live in a high tax country, most even made the money︀ in the US! after that they took the money home tax free and because they︁ have lived abroad for more then 10 years they get a flat tax rate of︂ 30% regardless how much they earn... awesome!
