Thats why you open a⁢ corporate brokerage account for managing your idle funds .A company can always choose to invest︀ its surplus money. The law is on interpretation.Else you dont get different verdicts for same things︁ in different courts.Your planet vulcan views are outdated just like the planets existence is.

Romania has zero inheritance tax.
You can create a Romanian holding company on your mother’s‌ name which will hold everything else. You and your mother will move to Romania as‍ reaidents therefore the inheritance will be under Romanian laws

So what is your conclusion regarding his situation? Should he relocate, or can you suggest‌ alternatives that he can then review with an accountant?

You could move the wealth into some off-shore trust or company to effectively hide it. I‍ personally don't think this suits the profile of OP as it is most likely illegal or at least questionable by the governments (invoicing 200k of consulting from some banana republic⁤ while living at minimum wage in France does not sound very credible).

The proper way⁣ is to move abroad.

Ah something right up my⁣ alley .Its not illegal if you are not caught. smi(&% dead:-! Move assets to offshore company slowly⁢ create a trust under which the company will be formed. And then keep moving the money︀ to the offshore company account.Taxes cya!!!The Romanian residency and move is also not bad i︁ guess.once he is out of the french jurisdiction and moved all his money to an︂ offshore location what can the french government do apart from sucking their thumb? I would︃ suggest to get a CBI Passport to start with though to cover all bases. What do︄ you think @daniels27?

No. Not really. But in German, there is a nice expression‍ for what you are trying to say: wo kein Kläger, da kein Richter.

Romania? Yes, sure.⁣ Why Romania when you can do the same in Switzerland already? Does not make much⁢ sense, but yes you can that too.

No, definitely not. Why CBI anyway? He is not American. He can just︁ register in Italy for a few years or Belgium and then get a passport there︂ free of charge. CBI really does not make any sense.

Ya what i meant was to get a different passport, doesnt matter which country as long‌ as its not France, but wont it be a risk for him staying in the eu‍ after pulling this off?Hence i suggested a different passport and not from eu whichever the way get a different passport doesnt matter how.

No, he⁤ should move to a EU country with good relations with France but no inheritance tax.⁣ He is then perfectly fine and can do all legally (which I think was his⁢ goal). CBI does a lot of harm, just stay in some European country for some︀ time to get another passport.

Wasn't the situation there‍ that the one leaving the inheritance did so while being a French tax resident? Seems to be that for Swiss inheritance tax the tax residency of the one leaving the⁤ inheritance is the determining factor.

So Switzerland. From mother to son most cantons‍ don't levy an inheritance tax. 2 cantons even have no inheritance tax at all for anyone regardless of relation.
