I'm not saying it is easy to get one, but 20 years living here (being integrated into society), having business here, and having connections””I don't see how they got rejected unless they did something bad in those 20 years or the application. It is a bureaucratic nightmare, so maybe their lawyer went above his pay grade.

Lol so many people did something wrong? Some of them had even Paraguayan wives.⁣ The lucky ones got it early in 2012 when that firm TDV was working with⁢ a certain German lawyer. Then suddenly news broke out about the whole thing. I am︀ pretty sure you know about her too.

I have an old client who has been a Paraguayan resident for maybe 10+ years.‌ Clean record, wealthy guy.
He has gone thru several Paraguayan lawyers (and paid big fees)‍ to get his citizenship/passport in the last 3 years... In short, he has been unsuccessful. Does anyone know of any foreigner (who doesn't really live-work-have a business or wife⁤ there, but does the needed visits, etc.) received a passport in the past 5 years?⁣ That window seems to have closed! If you know of any outfit who can really⁢ get the job done, you should contact me privately. Peter Taradash. PS: My client can︀ pay, but due to past experience wants a contingent fee. Maybe the money can be︁ in escrow.

More than likely they change their minds once they see the ground situation and meet real people. It's a⁤ nice quiet dead place after 5 to 6 pm usually. A retiree can enjoy their⁣ life quietly. Don't know if it's still a territorial tax jurisdiction or not.

Hi, so what's the‌ new way to regain Paraguay residency since now 5000 usd requirement is not there anymore.‍ I think it's been done away since 2022 if I am mistaken. This time I am thinking to move over there permanently.

You apply for a temporary residency, and after two years, you can apply for permanent residency.

But the requirements have changed now. I have an‍ expired cedula from there since I never went back. What are new requirements?

For permanent residency you need to have university degree or prove economic activity within the country.

I have a university degree. The requirements for investment‍ must have changed now i think. Not 5000 bank deposit anymore as initially required. But my question does the previous Cedula counts ? It's still in my bookshelf
