How to get some money from China / HK?

Draw up a simple agreement for the work carried out or issue an invoice corresponding‌ to the same. Recieve the payment into your bank account . If you have any‍ questions from the bank show them the doc.

It is just tax fraud at its best. If you get money for a favour‌ from a friend, it is salary.

Anyway. You can use the WeChat QR code in‍ many supermarkts and retail locations to make payments. Or you add his credit card onto your Google/Apple pay and spend his money that way.

Crypto is the way
Card payments are the way to pay via paylinks
Good ol'︁ p2p
It all depends on how much you're willing to 'pay' for that

24 September 2021 - China declares all crypto-currency transactions illegal
"Virtual currency-related business activities are‌ illegal financial activities," the People's Bank of China said, warning it "seriously endangers the safety‍ of people's assets".

Visa Direct or Mastercard MoneySend is the easiest option for such amounts if your Chinese friend has a bank app that supports it. Usually the transfer fee⁤ is 1%. You will receive it next day or even instantly on your debit card.⁣
2500 USD Per Transaction, 5000 USD Daily Limit.

Yes, and why? Because China has capital controls and there were too many Chinese taking money out of China.

Is this even available in China? IMO this︀ functionality is only available in a very limited number of countries.

I don't think Visa direct is available in China, for sure they have some alternatives from UnionPay.⁤

AFAIK Visa direct (credit card 2 credit card transfer) is available in these countries:

  • Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
  • Europe: Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary,⁣ Iceland, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine.
  • Africa: Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa,⁢ Zambia.
  • Middle East: Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen.
  • Other Regions: South Korea, Sri︀ Lanka, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.
To the OP: Just get an own crypto wallet︁ address and ask your Chinese friend to transfer USDT or BTC. Or even a pre-paid︂ CC.

Of course not! Again. China has capital controls.‍ Chinese can pay with their UnionPay card, WeChat Pay, AliPay overseas. Foreign non-residents cannot as they do not have a government limit. For the same reason cryptos are banned in⁤ China. I know people taking 20k CNY in cash every time they leave China.

In any case, if OP does not want to receive the money on his personal account,⁣ he can use his Chinese friend's WeChat Pay to buy food in Europe where it⁢ is accepted (quite many places by now).

I know some⁤ of them too, they used to bring suitcases full of cash daily. They don't even⁣ care if some of those get confiscated at the airport. 😎
USDT made life so much⁢ easier.

Yeah, that would be︅ a way, as it's not a really big sum.
The OP could let his friend︆ pay for his Amazon wishlist, they won't send the GESTAPO to his home for some︇ online shopping......right?

Right?

Mein freund, ze Aldi bag, eet ees not just any bag, ja?︈ Ve haff reason to believe that ze contents of zis bag may be linked to︉ a larger scheme of Geldwäsche, money laundering, perhaps even from China, naturlich.

( inspecting the︊ bag ) Ah, ve see ve haff some Brötchen, some Milch, and some... (dramatic pause)...Schnitzel.︋ Ja, ze Schnitzel, zis ees a classic money laundering tactic, no? You buy ze cheap︌ food, and zen you sell eet on ze black market for a profit, ja?

Now, mein freund, ve must ask you some questions. Who paid for ze food in zis︍ bag? Was eet you? Or perhaps someone else? Maybe someone from... (leaning in, whispering)...China?

(looking around suspiciously) Ve know that ze Chinese are known for their... (tapping nose)...creative money laundering︎ schemes. And ve will not stand for eet in our great nation, Deutschland!

So, come️ now, mein freund, tell us ze truth. Who paid for ze food, and what ees‌ ze purpose of zis... (waving hand)...Aldi bag?

And don't think you can deceive us with‍ your..... (looking around)... suspicious shopping habits.

Now, answer ze question, mein freund! Who paid for ze food?!

P.S. I think just asking the Chinese friend to purchase a Union Pay⁤ PREPAID card for him would be the easiest. Or Amazon/Google/AirBNB/Booking/whatever coupons?

Germans are pretty good at speaking english without any ztränze akzeunt...
Do not mix︍ with french guys 😛😛😛

Not everyone though.
Not that it really matters,‍ languages are just tools to communicate, and any accents make life more colorful and fun.

But it wasn't me inserting the accent into the story, for that you'll have to⁤ be grateful to biased AI, doing the same that Hollywood has done for a century⁣
(conditioning people's minds).

Did you solve the problem? It seems like we can't give personal advice here, so‌ at least let me know if you did.

There should be an option to change default account currency in paypal, ask your friend‌ to check for it if he has a paypal account. If he finds this option‍ and uses it he should be able to send you euros and currency conversion will be handled by his card issuer, usually is it 1 or 2% more than forex⁤ rate.

As a semi-professional in this field, let me explain:
A. In China/Hong Kong, it's quite‌ easy to convert fiat into USDT , but your friend needs to have some basic‍ knowledge of how this works. If he is a complete beginner, it will take around 30 minutes to an hour to learn the process. The same applies to you.
B. €5,000 is not a large amount. Your friend can go to any bank to handle⁤ this , it's the lowest-cost option. Especially in Hong Kong, this is even easier than⁣ buying a Rolex watch."

China and Hong Kong are two︀ completely differnt places. One has capital controls and banned crypto, while the other one did︁ not. In any case, if the money is in Hong Kong, it is pretty free︂ to move around.
