You can get the SMART SIM card in Cambodia.

Cheap set up and you can‌ buy top-up cards which can be USD1 a piece. You can scratch it and scan‍ and top up.

It comes with APP for phone to check. Easy to use. Thanks

Hello, Sorry ask. Do you have any visa agent⁤ (name company/contact ) who can help with extension paperwork?
Thanks
Next month Go and try⁣ To open bank account. Its also as I understand it, you don't need a tourist⁢ visa preferred business visa when entering the country, it will be easier that way

Which city?⁤ They are easy to find when you arrive, just look for a travel agency, most⁣ of them offer visa extensions.
Yeah, E-Visa (formerly business) is preferable, as the T-Visa (tourist)⁢ can only be extended once for 1 additional month.

thank you. I‍ contacted several agencies.. they say that now I need a work permit. cost 190 work permit 320 12 months visa and 110 for xpress processing they said it will be⁤ done in a 5 day. before i thinking is maybe 2 days. try find some⁣ agency for faaster when come in Phnom Penh. Or do you think that now it⁢ is possible faster than days?

a few words of the report ope bank account on cambodia and extetion visa
Now it is more difficult than before. 1 at the airport they refuse a business visa‌ (visa E) if there is no letter from the company in Cambodia.
2 online Visa‍ as luck would have it. they can also request additional documents.
3 at border crossings on the ground you can solve this problem.
4 there are agents in Phnom Penh⁤ for $ 200-400 (taxi and the price of a visa to Vietnam and Cambodia included)⁣ they take you to the border with Vietnam or Thailand and get a visa E⁢ (business). if you have a business visa for 30 days. agents make an extension for︀ 12 months without any problems. but now a work permit is required otherwise then a︁ fine. work permit 200-250 visa 320-350 taking into account the agency. to speed up the︂ process $100 per document each document 2 days.
5. with a 12-day visa and a︃ contract for renting a condo, many banks open account in 30 min. card withdrawal limits︄ $10,000-50,000 per day. transactions 50,000-100,000 per day. depending on the bank and type of bank︅ card (gold.platinum)
some banks require a reason for opening an account. buying an apartment even︆ a preliminary booking agreement for 500 dollars is accepted.

Most banks will open on a 6 months extension.

Did you try to do it with︇ 6 months or 12 months?

Could you clarify which banks would open the account with︈ only a tenancy agreement and a tourist visa?

I personally just opened an account at ACLEDA with a 30-day tourist visa. It only‌ took one day, and the bank agents even came to my hotel,I didn’t have to‍ go to the branch.
Maybe this was a special case because it was arranged through a good friend of a very close friend of mine (who lives there and is⁤ Khmer-European). They have good connections, so it might not be that easy without special help⁣ or local contacts.

Don't know yet how I will use it, but for now, as⁢ a TH resident:
  • You can use the QR code for payments (Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam)︀ without needing an account in each of these countries. In my case, with the DTV︁ visa (5 years) in Thailand, opening a bank account is still a mess, even in Pattaya︂ now, as they have added more restrictions. It’s kind of unbelievable.
  • No CRS reporting.
  • The app and e-banking services are honestly very good and comprehensive, probably better than many Western banking︃ apps. Plus, there’s additional security with a separate authentication app, along with SMS/email OTP verification.︄
  • Supports both Riel and USD accounts. Debit card costs range from $6 per year for︅ the basic version to $70 for the Platinum.

ACLEDA is︇ the easiest to open, they even open remotely for non residents. You need to get︈ a lot of documents notarised though.

I was‍ physically in PP, I just showed my (european) passport. Nothing else.

Is the︇ debit card you get a Visa or Union Pay branded card (meaning you can use︈ it all over the world?)

No, but it does offer‌ Visa Direct and Mastercard Send payments, allowing you to send limited amounts from your card‍ to someone else's, which could include European countries.

Yes, a bit of a‍ hassle. But it’s the only Cambodia bank allowing remote openings for non residents which is good.
