Argentina - Pros Cons

Imagine the smell; a‍ currency that can only be used in a province of a failed country.

No wonders the world is full of Argentinians trying to find a place to settle.

Steve is just reminding‍ Milei of their "deal" (publicly) rof/%

Still many desire their passport. For many people born in Africa, Asia, or Russia, getting one is like winning a lottery. Check how⁤ many countries Argentinians are allowed to visit visa free.

Citizenship will work very well for certain classes of immigrants and they will take full advantage of arg welfare benefits. For others resigned⁤ to deal with AFIP with no renunciation provision, not as much.

Paraguayan cedula is widely⁣ recognized in Argentina.

Buenos Aires is a big city with all the good and bad⁤ comes with that designation. Would I rather live there than in Sao Paulo, Rio, Mexico⁣ City, LA, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York? Yes. Would I rather live elsewhere in⁢ Argentina? Yes. Where? Probably Ushuaia, Bariloche, San Martin de Los Andes, or Necochea based on︀ my preferences for climate and geography. Others like Mendoza, others have gone to Cafayate although︁ that's a bit too Arizona for my taste. It's probably my favorite country in the︂ western hemisphere, and I've been quite often. Very different vibe than Chile, the people are︃ much warmer. Safer than Brazil with a better climate. But regardless of where you go︄ in South America these all tend to be low-trust societies compared to what citizens of︅ the US, Canada, Australia, New Zeland, the UK, and the EU are used to.

At least today, you can live like a king there due to their longstanding forex issues.︆

The biggest issue about trying to establish a residence there and spend too much time︇ in Argentina is getting caught in their tax net which is something you absolutely don't︈ want to do. If they had any sort of a non-dom, flat, or territorial tax︉ option I would be hard pressed to pick any place else. But as things stand︊ today, it's only a place you can vacation intermittently if you have significant assets. If︋ you are feeling lucky, you may simply underreport these to the authorities and count on︌ the inefficiency of the government not to catch up with you. Which it may not.︍ But of all the things I've seen and would like to someday see in Argentina,︎ the interior of a prison is not one of them.

But isn’t it in Argentina where they drug you and steal your organs for a‌ relatively small amount of money? From what I've heard, it’s not safe to move around‍ there?

Relax; they are not trying to injure you or kill you; they are just trying to get your valuables. So don't flash around with⁤ an iPhone, and cover yourself if you have a youthful, healthy body ripe for harvesting.⁣

Yeah I heard they launched Uber Organs over there , because of the large demand for organ transport

You got to be trolling us, right?🙄

If not...

The "Matrix" got you, didn't it? rof/%smi(&%

I do expect these comments from "regular" people/employees ***BUT***⁤ NOT from entrepreneurs who invariably have to be SMARTER & faster than the "MATRIX" to⁣ independently & individually compete against the MATRIX's "political influence & privileges" (read political bribery &⁢ corruption). 🙄

I will leave you with Christian's video to (maybe) try to deprogram you for︀ your own good. NOT "reprogram" as auto-correct suggested.

Enjoy 😉

Disclaimer: I lived and did business in Buenos Aires, Argentina,︁ in the early 90s (for several years) when Carlos Menem was President. Most of my︂ business came through a renowned & famous Argentine cardiac surgeon, René Favaloro. I still reap︃ these long-term dividends & benefits. We established wonderful & caring legacy relationships with lasting networks.︄ It's been nothing other than compounding returns. So, we're still reaping the rewards of our︅ time in Argentina. Of course, YMMV.

Unbelievable right ? Was last week in buenos‌ aires atleast it's cheap and they are trying to combat the black market .

Here's a question that, if answered, may help some people.

What specifically is necessary to‌ successfully apply for the Argentine Rentista Visa?

I've seen different things...

(1) The income must‍ only come from rental property or in the form of dividends paid by a company you own.

(2) Or Passive income at a given target ($2000 USD a month) is⁤ acceptable, even if not from source #1.

(3) Making a deposit in an Argentine bank⁣ at a level in lieu of #1 or #2 is also acceptable.
