Why notarized passport to setup my offshore company?

I have a stupid question dead:-!

why is my agent requesting my passport notarized? in the past it was only the utility bill that was required to be notarized or signed by a lawyer but now the passport too!

Any idea why it is that?

Your agent is required to perform due diligence for anti money laundering purposes which requires that they obtain a copy of the passport in a certified or notarised format.

Most agent's require you to send both passport and utility bill notarized! It's easy to get that done.

There is no way around the documents. Even we all like privacy then it's not possible unless you work with the dark side 😀
