Lloyds/HBOS announced yesterday (Friday 13th) two weeks ahead of disclosure date that they are likely to have around £10 billion in losses......

Do you think they sat around the boardroom wondering "when should we announce this?" and then "Oh its Friday 13th lets hit em with it".

Its a disgrace! UK banks are zombies.

Friday the 13th is as good as any to announce a bad news. That is, if you aren't superstitious; if you are, it's the worst timing. (Perhaps, they were after the morbid effect?)

It's an unlikely timing. We'll I guess if you have losses amounting to 10 billion anything is possible.

wow 10 billion in losses? How did they end up doing that? How can you lose that much money before you start to really notice it and have to announce it to the public?

10 billion in losses - when did they start recognizing that the money was really gone?

Was it when they did not get the "normal" winning or did they need time to realize that the market gives o winnings right now?
