Requesting Cyprus non-dom *and* 60 day tax residence in the same year

Has anyone requested non-dom status and 60 day tax residence in Cyprus in the same year?

I was told by a couple of people that the tax office can regard this as overly aggressive and prefer you to stay for 183 days for the first year.

Also, should one ask for the 60 day TR as early in the year as possible, or is there a bit more latitude than that. (Obviously taking great care not to trigger tax residence elsewhere)
