Question about dealing with forum spam

Hi,


If there is a forum in my site using YaBB, and fairly new and doesn't have any posts yet other than SPAM (P**N, viagra, etc...). I check as often as I can and delete those posts. If a search engine picks up those spam links before I can delete them could my site be penalized? Also, Any opinions on the best forum software?

As I see on this forum and many others, SPAM isn't something you can avoid. You just need to be an active admin and remove it as quickly as it comes in.


I think as well as thousands of others, vbulletin is the best and most secure script for a forum..
