I was wondering if it is possible to open an offshore account with the many banks around and not Cyprus offshore banks but all other countries. Is it possible to open an account there without to provide any bankers or professionals reference letter?

Yesterday I contacted a few banks and agency services and all of them told me that I have to provide a reference letter, some asked from my bank and others from an professional!

Is this normal?

What's the problem with the reference letter they are asking for, can't you get that from your CPA or Bank?

Most offshore banks available for remote bank account opening will ask for a reference letter from your current bank or an lawyer. This is their way to protect them from unwanted customers!

They confirmed yes!

Why do you need a bankers reference letter to open an bank account? I would refuse to provide that if they wanted it from my real bank!

Did you at any point considered to find an agent that not require a reference letter? It is most often the agent and not the bank that requires these docs.

For Cyprus banks it is not required with bank reference letter correct me if I'm wrong?

I said not Cyprus!

I'm still looking for some offshore bank that can help me to open an account easely. Maybe Latvia, Baltic countries general or other places would be nice.

There are quite a few US banks that would not require Reference letters. Most offshore banks will ask you for one.

There are also banks in Cyprus and Latvia so Malta that don't require a reference letter. But I think this should actually not be a problem for anyone to get.

Go with one of the Cyprus banks! As far as I know, Euro Pacific Bank don't require if you provide a bank statement or two! Finally Breder Suasso don't require reference letter neither!
