Ask the law firm to provide copies of their credentials. For better or worse, Panama is extremely bureaucratic. You can probably verify their license to practice law with the Órgano Judicial, Superbanco, or other authority. Other than that, you will need to rely on word of mouth and other recommendations and online reviews.
