Nordvpn has two very useful features, double VPN and onion VPN.
Double VPN => 1. First VPN server in your country and 2. Second vpn in a different country.
Onion VPN => Several VPN working as TOR network.
Why are these services important?

In a particular country, if the authorities want to get your IP address, they ask to place a snitch on the server of your country if you use one server only. For example: you are from the UK, you connect to a UK VPN server. UK authorities can ask to place a snitch to track you. Conversely, it is much more difficult if a double VPN is in place because there are two jurisdictions. Onion VPN is even better because there are servers in different jurisdictions. Unfortunately, the Onion VPN feature does not work well.

It is based on a true story. A man in Switzerland used NordVPN and sent emails via proton mails sent to airports and made bomb hoaxes. The French police asked NordVPN to identify the IP address of this user. It took 2 days to identify him. They arrested him.

Honestly I wouldn't go with NordVPN or any of the ”youtube ads” ones. My personal recommendation is using Mullvad, they we're raided by the Law Enforcement who had a warrant. It ended up that they fought the warrant and nothing was comprimised so definitely look into Mullvad.

No I don't sell VPN's or anything. I've just used Mullvad for years and if you check any forum that's keen on anonymity they recommend them.

I don't know where the ips are from but the performance is a hard to say. I personally don't lag at all when using them but do also got very good internet. They also got so that you can bounce ip threw multiple servers.
