My opinion is that the smartest way to handle an offshore company formation is to invite someone local to become your business partner. That person might not replace the role of professional consultants but it would certainly work well to your advance to have someone on your team who is familiar with the locale.

That's a great suggestion, might be complicated since you will need to pay this person and for his services, for most businesses it isn't worth the money...

Well, it depends on what you are going to use the offshore company for, means,‌ if the purpose of the company is for TAX savings or to facilitate it with‍ online payments it might not be of any need to have partnered with someone in the offshore jurisdiction where the company is located. However are you going to plan to⁤ conduct local business it would be of course are the best to partner with someone⁣ who know the country.

Very true. The wealthy go one step further. They send their kids or wives to‌ live in places like tax free Monaco. Then make them shareholders and have them take‍ all profit out of a company via tax free dividends. i.e UK billionaire Philip Green....cough cough.

From my experience it makes things much more expensive, that said, I agree totally with‌ you. A local partner can be much easier to work with in the process of‍ setting up a offshore company.

Fina a local lawyer that is working international with great connection. You pay a lot‌ of money for this but at the end of the day you get what you‍ seek and it will safe you a lot of troubles!
