Is safe to receive dark documents at home?

The seller told me that it is quite normal that if a person loses the documents overseas they will send them back to him by post.
Indeed it is true.

However, I'm getting a little paranoid.

You should find a Ghost address, typically a house or something that is abandoned as discussed in a few other threads around here.

Don't get them send to your real address.

A Mail forwarding service could possibly be an alternative if you can pick up the mail there.

Fortunately, I received it at my address without any problems.

The problems come later often many years later if you are unlucky. But of course, it is not a rule that you may get caught.
