I know Cyprus has still the banking secrecy but does it help in regards to authorities to stay away if the money loaded on the bank account comes from a company which filed bankruptcy?

You will need to pay heed to the fact that it is not legal to do such exercise, so it won't help you in the situation you are into at the moment. It is always a problem when clients comes with such issues when the fire burns, to have taken measures before such incidence would have been much better.

You will not gain the privacy and protection you seek, that simple! Many do think they can incorporate a Cyprus company or other offshore company and open a bank account in some other jurisdiction like Cyprus, Seychelles etc. and have full privacy protection, thats not true, as soon as you wire some funds to the offshore bank account it will be traceable since you leave a path from the local company to the offshore bank account, this path with a court order, will open expose the account for further prosecution.

OK! - How about customers that pay me to the offshore account then I don't have to make any payment so there won't be any traceable evidence from my privat account to the offshore bank account?
Correct, but you will still need a method to take home the money if you want to spend it which brings us back to the starting point, you will need some intermediary account/bank to do so.

I remember the days where it was that simple. Setup a Seychelles company and open a Cyprus bank account and your privacy was protected 🙁 I can be sad to read about OP's post back in 2011 and think about how things work today.
