This is a good step by Irish voters for their overwhelming support for European Union. This referendum clears the way for a new European constitution that should strengthen and streamline EU governance. Ireland's approval of the Lisbon Treaty will be more beneficial for Ireland and EU would be more strengthened. Many critics see the financial crisis, which has struck Ireland particularly hard, as a primary reason for acceptance from last year's rejection of Lisbon Treaty.
