How would you go about selling confidential source code of your employer?

Suppose you're a programmer for company X in a particular IT sector and you have‌ in your possession the complete source code of all the products that company makes
Who would be intrested in buying something like that? Perhaps only competitors? How would you approach‍ a competitor for negotiations and agreeing on an anon payout?
Does these things happen in⁠ the real life anyway?

Yes it does and it is almost always illegal. Industrial espionage is not something to be‌ discussed on the forum 😡.
