Escaping Your Past to Start a New Life 2026
By (Peter Taradash) & Son, <PeterTaradash@gmail.com>

"If you EVER have to escape a vendetta, divorce suit, or frame-up criminal charge, the single most important thing is to be well prepared in advance for your getaway. What do you need? Plenty of cash money & backup docs (like a 2nd passport/new name). Keep documents well hidden but handy – in a pack sack or old duffle bag, out of the reach of your special someones. We call it the ā€œPacked Suitcase.ā€ Keep at least ONE (preferably 2) Packed Suitcases (in different places) always ready. Be prepared to say goodbye to your past at the first whiff of sh*t … Don’t wait around till you are served with process or handcuffed!

Once you leave: Cut all ties! Don't leave behind any clues where you went aside from disinformation. What’s that? If you are sure you will NEVER go to Canada, leave behind Canada brochures and maps with bogus destinations and hotels circled in red. Mislead the tracers so they follow as many false leads as you can create.

Then, get out of your usual jurisdiction to a place where your native language is NOT spoken. Never look back. Why? An English-speaking fugitive will normally go to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or England. Across the border to Mexico or Belize are also favorites for 99 out of 100 English-speaking people who want to escape & start a new life.

Jews might go to Israel. ā€œNobodyā€ goes to Kosovo, Georgia, or Bosnia. They will be more successful. "Ditch your old self." Be dead to all who ever knew you. A new name or a completely new identity will ensure success.

This kind of sudden departure or escape will be 99.999% effective unless you break the rules and try to resurface as your old self...
Remember this!
There is absolutely NO place on earth that B.B. or a good private investigator cannot snatch you if you leave any good leads or contacts behind. --- Assume they can & will find you.

Is it possible to disappear completely? Yes! But the secret is to sever all ties with your former life.

No phone calls, mail. No joining special interest clubs, no favorite subscriptions. Obviously, no photos or personal info anywhere on social media. Keep away from Websites that you used to frequent, especially any unique and special interests like Falconry, Antique coins, guns, etc.

A complete lack of leads (with false, planted disinformation) raises your pursuers' costs. Without results or any good leads to follow up, after a year or two, most investigators will go after other fish. UNLESS your pursuers are very, very dedicated and willing to spend big money to find you. Bounty hunters looking for bail-jumpers are the most diligent and dedicated pursuers. Insurance company investigators will never give up if a recovery of millions of dollars or euros is involved.

You may be on computer databases for decades, but after a few years of lying low in a foreign country, normally, you are not valuable enough for them to pursue you actively any longer. This will be true, unless...

Unless you are on a ā€œMost Wanted Listā€ and have your picture (front and profile) floating around-- posted all over the place. Aside from that, nobody will notice you or care about your nefarious past. KEEP A VERY LOW PROFILE! Look ordinary, dress down, keep your big mouth shut. Stay out of arguments and conflicts. BE INVISIBLE!

Be careful at border crossings...The relatively new biometric ID, passports, or required photos/fingerprints might give you away to your enemies. Thus, best to avoid border crossings for the rest of your life. Depends upon how serious your enemies are.

The best safety comes only from your own actions, such as attracting unwanted attention or having a big mouth and revealing your secrets to acquaintances or lovers.

What should you do?

Change your name, and stay far away from communicating with your past acquaintances. The most common trick of investigators trying to find you is to contact your close friends or relatives: ā€œPlease pass on a message.ā€ Then your phone call or digital messages might be traced. Investigators will falsely claim that you are entitled to something. Maybe a court award, a pardon, a winning lottery ticket, or an inheritance. If relatives or old friends really don't know where you are, you can't be tricked by these common deceptions. Don't contact them either!

AVOID PAPER TRAILS

Do everything with cash or untraceable crypto. No credit or debit cards linked to your old self.

Don't have any phones aside from burner phones with no registration that you use sparingly & dispose of regularly.

Don't buy property, at least not ever in your own new or old name. A company name or straw man might be OK.

PLAN YOUR NEXT FAST ESCAPE WELL IN ADVANCE

Have your next destination or secret hideouts (known only to you). An alternate fast getaway spot is a good idea. Assets (i.e., survival cash or liquid assets) should be in place at your next stop.

PERSONAL PRIVACY – ESSENTIAL

New acquaintances, especially lovers & business partners, must NEVER know of your past problems.

Bottom line:

You are very much at risk of your past resurfacing, if...

You get into any lawsuits with anyone. Note: This often leads to an exhaustive background check.

  1. Stay clean and invisible! If you sponsor or get involved with websites on the edge of legality, especially kiddie porn or frauds of any kind. Most important thing! Stay clean. Don’t get involved with any fraudsters, thieves, terrorists, or other lawbreakers. Heat on them will bring heat to you. Distance yourself from shady people and shady deals. The odds of remaining unnoticed will be vastly enhanced

  2. If you are pulled over for any traffic violation, it could be the beginning of the end. Note: Better to give up driving altogether!
  3. Be clean as the driven snow! Note: There are lots of busybodies anxious to cause you trouble.
  4. Don’t do anything controversial, radical or dangerous, like taking part in a Gay Pride Parade or protest marches. No comments on the internet.
  5. Get rid of your big ego. Never brag about who you were, what you accomplished or the stuff you got away with in the past.
  6. Lying low and having your 6 flags is not enough. Offshore is not enough. Leaving your homeland is not enough.
  7. What is enough? Personal privacy at all costs; a healthy sense of paranoia.
Nobody knowing where you sleep is a start. Don't drive!

I believe the hardest part for most people is truly cutting all the ties with family, friends and familiar circles. That’s often the most fragile point in the process, and where challenges arise when someone is trying to reinvent themselves.

If a person has a thoughtful plan and is well-prepared in the ways you’ve described, the transition can go really well and smoothly.

However, sometimes life circumstances push even the most honest and cleanest individuals to escape because something completely unexpected happened and they became a victim of the situation. So, what happens when someone has no second citizenship, no cash on hand (only some funds in bank accounts and/or crypto), and no clear idea of where to go and how to begin, as it has never been their concern?
