Censorship, illegals, removing tax benefits, traitorous leaders, overall self-destruction for the native popn...
Or will it continue to be a haven that is spared from the ravages of authoritarianism since, after all, money is the most important thing to the powers that be.

There are only 2 ways off the island - a plane to the UK or a boat to France - is that too confining?

Europe is self-destructing. CBDCs incoming in Oct.
Will the British Crown Dependencies still be a good place to live in the coming years?

Apologies, but were they ever a good place to start with?
The weather is dull and windy, the prices are mad, there is almost nothing to do and see and you need to take a connecting flight to go anywhere.
I understand British who moved there - it's an upgrade plus you are a short flight away from the UK.
But for others - there were never a good option.

OK - what about in relative terms compared to the rest of Europe?
'Boring but stable' might be alright

May-Oct seem livable even with the wind.
Grocery store prices aren't bad so could cook more, eat out less.
Enough shops, pubs and little cafes in St Helier to keep it interesting.

The connecting flight issue is annoying.

Just go to Gibraltar, at least you get better climate and cheap stuff in Spain and you can drive/fly anywhere.

On the issue - CI economy heavily depends on financial regulation, it's a nexus for offshore banking, so everything else matters little. So if you believe that the UK government will keep the regulations untouched - everything will be fine. If they decide to destroy offshore financing in the name of transparency or whatever - half of CI population will pack and leave.
