The critic of Zelensky and, to some extent, of Biden and of US in general too
a US citizen too

Gonzalo Lira died in Ukraine, around 2 weeks ago

Have there been any Western headlines about him?

Indeed, there was virtually zero coverage, and the US made no effort to ensure his‌ safety.

I was sad to hear he'd died. He made some good content both as‍ Coach Red Pill and when he started covering Ukraine. I particularly liked his video on epistemic viciousness. And, of course, his video exposing Victoria Nuland was extremely insightful and detailed⁤ for those who had no idea who she was. I guess you can say he⁣ was a bit of a clout chaser and perhaps not the most honest of actors,⁢ but many of his opinions were on point.

I guess we'll never really know what︀ happened; I think Scott Ritter made some decent points, though, asking why, when he was︁ arrested in 2022, he was released and allowed to post as normal. I know he︂ lost access to his original YouTube, telegram, Patreon, etc. But he was back up and︃ running post-release pretty quickly, doing the same stuff that led to his original arrest. So,︄ him being an SBU asset doesn't sound implausible.

I also don't understand why he tried︅ fleeing to Hungary. Surely, getting to Russia was a more viable option. I don't know︆ how easy that would be given the landscape, but there's so much shared border; surely︇ it is possible to get across. He could probably have organised safe passage via some︈ of the people he often spoke with via his channel. So, that one is a︉ bit puzzling.

he would have had to cross the frontline. Hungary seemed easier.

But there's so much border with Belarus and Russia that is not the front‍ line. He was in Kharkiv, it is a stone's throw. And given there have been cases where Ukrainian troops have crossed unabated to carry out operations, it doesn't seem like⁤ it would be mission impossible. Rather than the 1200km drive to the Hungarian border.

The East and north were just too hot. Too high risk to encounter some Azov lunatic.
Maybe he shouldn't have posted videos of his motorbike trip to the west.
I'm sure he considered all the options and chose what seemed the safest one at that moment. R.I.P.

Yeah, I just don't know why he considered⁤ that was his best option.

His tweets about his border crossing attempt were scheduled, so⁣ they went live long after he'd attempted to cross, not prior.

i also dont get that, but might have had reasons unknown to⁣ public or was thinking the us passport at the end of the day provides some⁢ protection.
He was also Chilean, so might have had a passport from Chile on top︀ in his arsenal.

Chain-smoking would have gotten to him in the end, only started looking at around the‌ period he was first arrested.

Shameful the way the US allowed a US Citizen, journalist‍ no less, to have this done to them, but alas we have these socialist leaning n**i welcoming people in power in the West.

He did⁤ say in some videos he had a health condition that meant he wasn't going to⁣ live to a grand old age. But clearly, his demise was premature in prison and⁢ avoidable.

In fact, it looks the exact same as how most COVID patients died of︀ bacterial pneumonia in 2020 due to the lack of any treatment. Like millions of others,︁ just 3 tablets of Azithromycin would have changed the outcome.

To publicly support a military aggression while still residing in the aggressed country one has‌ to be very brave or mentally deranged. In any case let him RIP.
