Be very careful with such... I would at a minimum ask for a bank statement starting from the date of where the account has been opened and until now. If you can't get such, stay away. If there are transaction on the offshore account you may ask the owner for details of each transaction. If this is unavailable stay away. For the company in Belize it is much more complicated, it will be difficult to be sure that nothing has happen with the company, at a minimum get a Certificate of Good standing to at least make sure the company has been renewed.
All that said, the Cyprus bank will close the account once they find out and if you don't inform them about the ownership shift.
