yeah we're talking about decades of tax evasion here...

I always tell people two things depending on the continent they're from: 1) don't play with EU VAT 2) don't play with Uncle Sam.
And always point them to Al Capone - Wikipedia
the guy killed dozens of people and the court couldn't find any proof of it to jail him, yet he was easily jailed for tax evasion.
And this was 100 years ago without all of today's technology.
