Well, I suggest you all start using GPG / PGP, if you are not already‌ using it. And I mean installing it on your computers, not just using the encryption‍ service that some Email Services provide.

Pretty sure the EU will pass laws banning‍ or at least fining an jailing anyone caught using encryption that they cannot access. Otherwise⁠ any new legislation they bring in becomes pointless and ineffective.
