Ok does not sound too bad. People living in EU will just seek exchanges outside the EU potentially. Could just mean less growth for crypto businesses within the EU.

As an EU-based brokerage platform operator - this is what half of the industry will do: move operations / HQ / Entities outside of EU and continue business as usual. Most likely some of the most assgiving exchanges will bend over as usual (Coinbase, for example) and comply.
 
Move out will work for them short term, long term they will have to comply one or the other way.
