yep. I didn't discover it, I've read about it somewhere. Had to check myself and with the default settings (IIRC dns auto) and a lot of hidden spyware it really was sending it all somewhere in china.
contacts, sms, browser searches etc 😱
it was pretty big news in the tech websites.
The bootloader unlock screen had the red communist star 🤣
Flashed lineageos (at the time) and it stopped. This was in 2019 IIRC.
Great phone after cleaning it all.

oh btw it's not that far from what microsoft was doing with windows 11... so many connections open there, so many shared things, so much telemetry!
