Closing a never used UK LTD company

I had opened a limited company about a year and a half ago, I had some plans but things didn't turn out as I thought, so it was never used, not once.
Now I want to strike off the company, but it requires authentication code which I never received. This seems to have been a fault on my part, the address given was a post box that I no longer have access to and now I cannot change it...

What to do?

Last time I had such a company I just left it and never did anything after a year and a half it was taken off the register.
