What’s the best lesson you’ve learned about money? Personal experiences appreciated!

money is a record of useful deeds

money is whatever allows to transfer power/energy through‌ time and space -> this makes it trivial to decide what is good and bad‍ money

that's a good one...
I'd rephrase to: never give a loan to‍ friends and family, especially with collateral, because liquidating it will make you even more evil.

Always make others work for you and always take a credit to yourself for it.‌
Teach no one your tricks or they will be used against you.
Play a sucker‍ to catch one.

😀

It's better to keep them than spend them. Safe up small amounts, it will turn‌ into a big amount.

the moral of this story is unfortunately about 50 years outdated
the world‌ has changed too much, gold is done and it's obvious

it's perfectly fine to‌ disagree - time will decide
today we can only compare how the asset serves us‍ now and in potential scenarios that may happen

the less you have the more you will make.

If you have almost nothing your‌ effort is way bigger then when you have a good cash base.

so invest constantly‍ as soon as you earn your first dollar and be "poor" all the time

Money becomes worthless as time goes on, so invest, invest, invest until you retire (don't‌ leave too much money to your children, the will squander your fortune.)

  1. Saved money itself does not make you happy, but it will make things easier.
  2. Don't be too obsessive about saving, if you don't have kids. Use and spend your money‌ to make yourself happy. Live can end at any time. And your money will not‍ help you after you die. So use it now!
  3. Try to spend the money only on things that make you happy! Save the rest!
