How to live in another EU country?

I think I made a mistake for Italy, that link is talking about corporate exit taxes (I think). It's difficult to find information about individuals changing their tax residence. Another thing is that it sometimes only applies to shares you hold in a company.

How to live in another EU country?

There are exit taxes in the EU. It seems a bit unclear sometimes what a particular country may charge you. There seems to be new EU-legislation which will harmonize this (see the Italy link below). Spain: Under Spanish tax law, an exit tax is triggered when a taxpayer losses its tax residency...

How to live in another EU country?

There are probably exit taxes when you leave the country you're in right now. You will probably have to pay capital gains tax on the crypto when you leave.

EU citizen, living in Germany looking to open a consultancy company for side gigs - what is the best option?

This is incorrect. With 1 simple Google search for Germany exit taxes I find this: "Exit taxation for individuals Broadly, the German exit taxation for individuals is triggered upon the relocation of a German tax resident to a Member State or a third country whereby Germany loses its right to...

EU citizen, living in Germany looking to open a consultancy company for side gigs - what is the best option?

I don't think this works. What about exit taxes for the company? And what about exit taxes for the individual? The country you leave will probably have the right to tax the individual on capital gains when you leave.

MOSS (Mini one-stop shop) VAT scheme circumvention?

You don't have to do any of that. In fact, doing it yourself is practically impossible. If you go with 2checkout or Paddle (or some other company that takes care of it), they will take care of all of it. VAT calculation, collection, paying, reporting, registration, etc. You don't have to do...

MOSS (Mini one-stop shop) VAT scheme circumvention?

Easy solution here. Use a payment processor that also takes up the VAT/GST/Sales tax requirements in various countries (you're talking about VAT in Europe, but other countries have similar taxation). Examples are 2checkout and Paddle.

Digital Nomad / Perpetual Traveller - 0% tax with US LLC

By the way, if you're in software you may be able to structure your business in such a way that you can take advantage of the Intellectual Property schemes that many countries have. Usually this means a significantly reduced tax rate.

Digital Nomad / Perpetual Traveller - 0% tax with US LLC

This type of setup for digital nomads comes up quite regularly but it doesn't work. The reason it doesn't work is that you're still taxed at the places where you do the work. So let's say you go to Portugal for 30 days and work while you're there. Portugal will have the right to tax you over...

Any experiences with the Italian inbound regime?

You don't have to stay 6 months in Italy. To establish tax residency in Italy there are 3 options. It's actually very easy to establish tax residency, you can just register in the Municipal population register. You can stay as long as you want in Italy and then travel around. From the OECD...

Any experiences with the Italian inbound regime?

I'm only interested in legal setups that actually reflect the reality of my business. If you're going down this route why not just move to a 0-tax country?

Any experiences with the Italian inbound regime?

Thanks for mentioning this, however this seems to be the case if both parties of a transaction are based in Italy. If you have foreign customers something else seems to apply: the 'Esterometer'. Basically, you need to submit information about each invoice to foreign customers to the government...

romania (micro company and tax residency)

Thanks for your input. Could you expand on the challenges that you've experienced? I guess after 20 years you're as Romanian as they come, so it may be a different story. You may have also entered the country being not wealthy. It's just difficult for me to accept that a wealthy foreigner...

romania (micro company and tax residency)

Romania offers one of the lowest tax rates in the world with their micro company scheme. Fiscally speaking, it's one of the best options. I've looked at it before. The problem I have with countries like Romania and Bulgaria is that they are quite underdeveloped (even compared to, say, Hungary)...

Any experiences with the Italian inbound regime?

It seems you can get taxed below 40% in Italy with an SRL. You can use the tax transparency scheme if you use an SRL. This means you effectively get taxed like a self-employed person but with the legal protections of an SRL. This eliminates the corporate tax and you get taxed with the reduced...

Good low tax place to live/relocate

I've looked at this Italy scheme but it's not as attractive as it sounds at first. You're definitely not going to pay 5% or less in Italy. You still have to pay social contributions (~25% on your income), up to a maximum payment of ~100000 euros. You still have to pay IRAP (4-5%). Italy is in...

Any experiences with the Italian inbound regime?

Can you show me where this is stated? I have not seen this and I have read quite a bit about it. You can create a private limited company and pay yourself 100% of the profit as a salary. Then you pay no corporate tax and only the reduced income taxes plus social contribution tax (I have to...
