Crypto in Philippines - normal or shady stuff ?

Keep individual transfers below 500KP. There is a reporting obligation on banks for amounts above (as I vaguely recall). One off large transfers may be ok, I don`t know, but for regular transfers best to keep each below 500,000P.

    New Philippines FIV Permanent Residency?

No. Quota visa. It is the investor visa but, like I said, no investment is required (or was when I did it). My money was only tied up for the 2 weeks it took to get the bank letter.

    New Philippines FIV Permanent Residency?

Quota visa is the best (strongest). Gives permanent residency. Not sure about now but when I did it I only had to transfer some money into my bank account (for "investment purposes"), get a letter from the bank stating this had been done and then that was that. There was no rules about having to...

Buying a house in the Philippines as a foreigner

PH - easy to buy. Let`s talk about selling :-) Has anybody sold? :) This country is a dysfunctional circus. Make money in it doing bussines , but buying "assets" ........... it is not an asset until you sell it. Try that.

Buying a house in the Philippines as a foreigner

The PH is broken because Filipino "thinking" is broken. Buy a property? Look at how the owners trying to sell theirs are getting on. It is a broken market.

US LLC + Living in the Philippines

It should be good. Don`t over think it too much. Filipinos don`t. The important thing is PH is not a part of CRS so I don`t think they receive any info from overseas. Even if they do it is a highly inept country. Just lie low and don`t say anything. Territoral taxation for resident aliens but...

List of Territorial Tax Countries with formal and de-facto treatment of foreign income

Holders of a Permanent Residence Visa are exempt from obtaining an AEP pursuant to DOLE Department Order No. 97-09: "Revised Rules for the Issuance of Employment Permits to Foreign National". You can get a Certification from DOLE stating such. I did. Last edited: Jul 17, 2023

List of Territorial Tax Countries with formal and de-facto treatment of foreign income

In the “Corporation Code” of the PH there is no concept of residence for tax purposes. Instead the PH applies the incorporation test. As a result, you would be unable to obtain a PH TIN for your overseas company as under the criteria of the PH Government, it is not considered tax resident...

Why people hate HSBC so much ??? What is your bad experience???

HSBC HK - Oh boy, don`t get me started. Demand a new Certificate of Incumbency every 12 months and now demanding another certified true copy of the Certificate of Incorporation, all for an account that is already 12 years old. Apart from that, they are s**t.
