Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

Not yet. I approached some banks, but when they hear I am interested in “self managed investment custody” - they mostly go “we are interested in clients who we profit from, going for our discretionary investments route”.

EU Investing in the current economy

Hi, I'm personally attracted to evidence-based investing, but at the same time I know my knowledge of it is limited - so for the time being I'm following the Bogleheads investment principles - a big portion goes to a widely diversified FTSE-All-World based ETF, with the purpose of accumulating...

Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

I don't mean to pry But if as you mention above - investing in a EU bank ensures your securities are protected even from the bank's own bankruptcy - why would you or anyone need to hold more than 1 account? EDIT: also, would you equally entrust brick and mortar banks such as UBS/CS/BGL BNP...

Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

So the bank credit rating does not matter at all - but only that of the depository/custodian bank that the bank uses? i.e. would you be just as comfortable investing via two banks, one BBB and the other AA, as long as both use e.g. Citibank Europe as the custodian bank? Also, I wonder - what...

Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

Thank you for this! This is not a guarantee of protection but interesting nonetheless. This list of top 50 safest banks worldwide is definitely relevant. IB has BBB- credit rating last I checked which is pretty bad, that's why I prefer a brick and mortar bank at this point.

Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

Thank you! Can you provide a reference to those EU rules? I assume that it will be good to stick to a EU bank that has a high enough financial rating, while maintaining low fees. Didn't know that history RE UBS and CS, interesting”¦ so they aren't as finanvially strong as I thought. Thanks

Question Private banking - 7/8 figures, white and safe

Hi, I'm looking for a new home for my ETF holdings that have a 7-8 figure worth in EUR - currently it's with an online broker but it's not as financially stable as a brick and mortar bank, although has better fees - but I'm willing to pay in fees if it means my funds are secure. I was thinking...
