    I need a spanish IBAN!

Yes. N26 however will only give you 1 choice of country, you cannot have more than 1 country IBAN from them, unless you want to open a Business account with them. Bunq's "base" IBAN is NL, and they give you the option to add: DE, ES, FR, IE. I hope one day they'll consider adding an IT IBAN.

    I need a spanish IBAN!

Bunq now offers ES IBAN for free if you have the right Bunq monthly plan (and they're not that expensive). Bunq is a neobank, if that helps.

abandoned LLC - troubles visiting US?

@tomwis , again, I don't think U.S. Borders & Customs are smart enough to be checking for your delinquent LLC. Have a safe trip, watch out for crazy people (and stay away from them :))

abandoned LLC - troubles visiting US?

@tomwis I can tell you that the US immigration/border patrol system isn't exactly linked up to the IRS. I wish it were that smart sometimes. Assuming you are a EU citizen with no requirement to apply for a US visa, and you're coming for holidays, I don't think they will quiz you about your LLC...

    Neo Bank for Non-EU Resident

I don't “want” the IT IBAN, it's just that certain bills I pay still require (or “prefer”) that I have an IT IBAN. IBAN discrimination be damned. :(

    Neo Bank for Non-EU Resident

From the main Bunq app, tap on the 'Add +' button, Add Bank Account, then you should see an option called 'Bank Account' - Put money aside, bank in a different IBAN and manage foreign currencies. I have the cheaper Easy Bank Pro plan. If this works, maybe I can talk you into getting me an IT...

    US Debit/Credit Card for non-resident

I think a US address is still required for many of the US major banks since they need some way to send you a debit card. Most (if not all) debit cards are mailed to an address. You can always get one of those forwarder (anytimemailbox.com has several US addresses), and you can get a prepaid...

    Neo Bank for Non-EU Resident

Also Bunq. They might open an NL iBAN first by default but if you pay for their 9.99euro/month plan, you can add an FR IBAN, IE IBAN, ES IBAN, and DE IBAN. Let's hope you're not from one of their banned countries, however.

    Wise account gone

Well at least you got your "closure" (no pun intended!!) from your Wise love-hate relationship, and I hope you get your money back quickly. So I think we can all chalk it up for "using Stripe on personal Wise" as the root cause, and of course they will never really tell you why. Payoneer is a...

    Wise account gone

No, I get it. My advice (as well as others reading this thread) still stand though, keep your business business, keep your personal personal, and keep Stripe out of your personal, as this may not be the last time this 'hiccup' happens. Keep us posted and best of luck.

    Wise account gone

By the way - found a post from this Canadian guy in July who was in the same boat as you. Got his personal Wise account suspended, allegedly because he was using it with Stripe, was "OK for 3 years".. A Thread 'Wise Suspended, Looking for EMI bank options' Jul 3, 2024 I had a wise (personal...

Credit cards - leave it all behind?

For one, you are only "ruining" it for everyone else, as the bank(s) where you had defaulted on your (credit card) loans will now be even more cautious in the future for subsequent applicants. While they may not be able to find you (anymore), depending on how big your debt is, they might find a...

    Wise account gone

@galadrel I sympathize with your issue and my opinion (as a long time Wise user - let's hope I don't jinx myself!) is similar to others here. Your personal Wise account (in Wise's mind) needs to be used for personal use only, understanding that you're a small-time web developer taking in...

    Dont trust Wise

i think I found a workaround - I'm able to set up a 'Connected U.S. bank account via ACH' where the commission isn't that much higher than converting existing USD (in my USD bucket) to other currencies. I'm merely using the USD detail on Wise to receive USD (from a US bank account) so I can...

    Dont trust Wise

While we're all loudly berating Wise, here's mine. Wise Support sent a request for me to verify my EU address (which I did, on the app) and they requested a recent utility bill (which I sent). Got a confirmation email saying your address has been verified successfully. A few days later, got this...

Non-EU citizen but EU resident (thru investment) - qualify for EMIs?

Ok - so we know how challenging it is for a non-EU person to qualify for all these wonderful EMIs we have in the EU. A colleague who's a US citizen (and normally considered 'toxic' - I'm talking the passport, not the colleague - by any banks in the EU) recently received a Greek Permanent...

    Personal Banks with US details

Yes, just keep in mind though that some companies won't accept mobile phone bills anymore, only utilities (electric, gas, water, etc).

    Payonner to wise

Withdrawing from your Payoneer account to your own Wise account (that has been linked to your Payoneer account) should work - for a fee, I think. But paying yourself from Payoneer to Wise, if I recall, is a no-no, as "Payoneer is supposed to be for business purpose, blah blah blah".

    Personal Banks with US details

Slightly off topic but Wise recently asked folks (with personal Wise acct) to verify their (EU) address, in order to keep their USD bank details. Wise uses Community Federal Savings Bank in the USA, with ABA routing number and checking account number - works great for free transfer to and from...

    Ibkr reviews

Can attest that no problem with IBKR. Onboarding was easy (but that was a few yrs ago, not sure if KYC has gotten more strict). Have owned and held on to various EU-based ETFs for awhile now, never sold anything (so I can't speak for commissions/fees etc). They seem to be as safe as any online...
