I am nor sure I follow the logic to not name the EMI. It is better for others to know so they can avoid and better for you to create some negative PR and sentiment around the EMI and its behaviour.
Bad service should be reported......
Also you may find people on this forum who can help with...
Update:
Altery works well and sign up was very easy. Platform is very user friendly (not buggy) and actually dynamic in terms of what you can or cannot do (unlike a lot of EMI app's)
I am not sure if the FCA is easier or worse than any other 'regulator'.
I was about to sign up to Altery....! However, if I am a UK citizen, but EU resident, is using Altery a bad idea? Let me hear your opinions.
OK.
Is it a OK to use an EMI based in your actual tax country, but when on-boarding with EMI using a different country for tax purposes?
So tax resident in country X, but on-board using PoA for country Y, but the EMI is based in country X.....
Whoa... that never happens. I will give Altery a try now as they actually have customer service.
Shame it is FCA authorised as I try and stay away from UK EMIs and UK tax reporting. Hmmmmmmmm.
I have run my accounts down to zero and believe it soon ceases to exist.
It does not take nearly a year to find a clearing bank for transfers in/out....... unless no-one wants you......
Define 'legit'....!
But lots have not taken my Tax ID - Ibandirect; Blackcatcard; Wirex. Lots do. Some do not.
I tried to use this but it uses geo-location for signing up. I need the app / sign-up to think I am in Malta .....when I am not. It does not let you sign-up unless you are IN country...
Will try them first. Don't like the reference to providing 'TAX ID' on their homepage but let's see. They clearly want one which a lot of EMIs dont ask for (nicely :))
Thanks. I have heard of these guys before. Will check it out.
Interesting!
