Seeking Expert Advice for Securing My New Lenovo Laptop

Aren't snaps closed source and could essentially be doing anything? The whole practice of theirs to force snaps on everyone is already bad enough, they are going to only get worse What would you say about this argument: Ubuntu Spyware: What to Do? - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation

Seeking Expert Advice for Securing My New Lenovo Laptop

Unless you need Windows-specific software, modern Linux doesn't require being a techie. It's easier to install than Windows... But that's of course if you care about privacy, which you came across as caring for.

Seeking Expert Advice for Securing My New Lenovo Laptop

I did a double take when you mentioned antivirus... Avast... Like antiviruses are the spyware. Why wouldn't they be? And it's a Lenovo laptop. So I assume you'd want to use Windows? Another spyware. Use Linux. Nothing is needed to make it "usable", it already is. Better Debian, rather than...

    Millionaires are leaving the BRICS

Could be lower cost of living, Christian culture that doesn't have too many Muhammads yet. What countries do you think have good prospects in the coming decade, apart from the SEA? It's not a difficult thing at all. Do you want lots of citizens? Import a few millions of Asian women on work...

What are some residency options leading to citizenship and second passports?

Do those people only use cash? Because otherwise the government becomes aware of their income the second the money are deposited in bank account, no?

How does one achieve it? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one required to be a resident (live more than 6 months a year) of each country to be able to apply for citizenship? And one can't do it in both countries simultaneously?

It feels to me like a psychological thing. There's relief in abandoning any route other than one that is conventional and encouraged by society. Then if OP does get locked up, after returning to his country to 'face the music' he could think of how he did the right thing, everything within his...

If they are paid in cash, why would they snitch? The only reason those cops would get locked up is due to internal conflicts within clans - that's how corrupt countries work. Some of their workplace competitors would work to find evidence to lock them up, and begging for justice would not help...

Sounds like the safest route for OP is to keep paying off the police that comes his way in his home country, until he gets a permanent residency, or better yet, citizenship elsewhere?

Shooting themselves in the foot, are they? Why would anyone risk investing into their passport if it's so easily revoked?

What's the incentive for his country's law enforcement to seek out such a deal? If they can't put the OP in prison, what else could they gain from him? Bail money? I assume those people can't get a bank account in their country of residence, so they are either forced to reply on the Nominee...

    BEWARE IN COLOMBIA!

How tall are you, I wonder? Would what you said still stand true if the traveler is a 5' woman? It's much easier to be given the benefit of the doubt by the potential offenders if your appearance implies a possibility of reciprocal aggression (strong/tall man). If you appear to be physically...

POLL Do you believe religions are a way of population control?

Well, by that logic believing in most societal constructs (for instance, laws - which are just ideas that people agreed upon) is a mental illness The topic is pretty weird. OP might as well ask if people believe 2x2 = 4. These days even kids understand that religion is a form of control. What...

Dubai vs Switzerland for Third world country Rich immigrant ?

Oof. I expected something like that, having heard stories from Germans I know. That is one reason I like less developed countries more. Less rules, and more chaos. Not without its drawbacks, but imo the amount of rules in society should be the minimum required for it to operate. Imposing more...
