Seeking Advice on Opening a Personal Account as a Thai Resident with European Nationality

FACT CHECK: TRUE Whatever Schwab used to do in the past, the reality as of today for non US citizens/residents is a brokerage account tied to a "bank" account with a debit card if you leave the money idle -paid at 4.5%, which is not bad. You can use the account for bonds and stocks trading...

Spain targets big spenders: New rules for high-value card payments coming in 2025

Because they say so. Period. Same thing transactions over €1,000 in cash are HUUUUUUUUUGE according to them and have thus been banned. It's never about fairness. Iit's never about transparency. Iit's never about tackling fraud. It's about totalitarian control. One step in the Overton window at...

It is now legal to confiscate your assets in the west - movie

Yes, I thought the same myself. Very disturbing as "segregated" means not mixed up with the broker/entity's own dealings. Disturbing to say the least. NVO

    The Johnny Doe IBKR portfolio

I agree, but the 30% in US WHT for dividends makes that 10% get down to 7% net pre-tax. That's why I personally like to find odd bonds of good/superior quality that pay more or less the same (or in some cases, much more -eg, those trading at a sensible discount-), and hold them. The only real...

    Jafo has passed away

I just got hold of this thread and its messages. I join everyone else before me in sending my condolences to @jafo 's family and friends. RIP and may God rest his soul. A truly valuable contributor of this forum, one that I would carefully read whenever he had anything to say, particularly with...

Luxembourg company setup, what's your thoughts?

Yes and No. Yes if you cash out as capital gains tax (dividends) and No if you cash out as an employee (assuming you are the GP (general partner, the fund manager) in the structure), in which case you're already taxed in Luxembourg and thus would avoid double taxation in your home country.

    Insurance for corporate investment account

That's a much better answer, thanks. I believe you are right and perhaps it would be best to move to either the Cyprus/UK regulated entity of the company or switch to another firm, like Saxo, Swissquote, IBKR, Flatex, etc. Wouldn't you agree? NVO

    Insurance for corporate investment account

Yeah, stop the patronizing replies if you can't provide me with any help. Providing names of firms that commingled clients' funds with their own to speculate and play games is not the same as an execution-only broker, like your beloved IBKR...Again, if you can help, fine...if not, leave it to...

    Insurance for corporate investment account

I understand your point, but it's not the case of a single, God-knows-where jurisdiction broker...it's a worldwide broker, regulated in the UK (FCA), Dubai, New Zealand, US, Cyprus/Europe, and some palces in MENA and Africa...cash in hand from operations similar to IBKR, not a small player. Been...

    Insurance for corporate investment account

Hello all, I have a corporate client who opened an account with the Seychelles branch of a Dubai-based, reputable commodities broker. Established and worldwide renowned firm, but an enviable financial position. They have been testing them out with $3M on account for about a year now and are...

    Portfolio tracking sw/app

SnowBall is hands down the best in terms of price/quality relationship, ease of use interface and features. I personally am not looking at anything else at the moment, as it more than covers my needs (it says it targets retail investors, but 7-(low 8)figure portfolios are well covered, too...

    The Johnny Doe IBKR portfolio

Just missing BXSL in it and quite a few that overlap themselves (thus reducing the efficiency of the portfolio, but I assume that's on purpose), otherwise quite the income portfolio.

Help related to country with cash depositing flexibility.

There are always ways, provided you're willing to give away a decent % for the "service". If you want to do it yourself, that's another matter. NVO

Ordered Trezor Safe 5 online, check this statement?

Exactly that. You just said it before me. Nowadays (at least where I come from), courier service companies either call you in advance (if you chose to have the item delivered at your specified address) or they let you pick it up at one of their deposit hubs near you. Far more convenient to use...

    DLS and Fred MIA

If you want, I have someone in the ground there that would be of assistance. The right-hand man any business owner needs in Dubai. Let me know if you'd like to get his contact details. I have NO interest whatsoever, other than having been fortunate enough to have been introduced to him and...

Does anyone know who Peter Taradash (Grandpa /Pugi) is and what happened to him?

@peter taradash Very interested to know about a couple examples of those "financial services organizations" that delivered the full 'banking and lifestyle' experience. Even if it's not the actual one you might have used, a hint on similar providers would be appreciated. @Martin Everson Dear...
