    Let's talk about the West

She dropped that? Well, it is not totally unexpected. Alrady many years back she started to change it to "eventually get out of euro".

    Let's talk about the West

It is almost impossible to get timing right, even if one was right about everything else. That 2022/2023 would work if the SHTF was a sudden economic collapse. E.g. covid money printing and supply problems lead to high inflation. Interest rates somehow get out of ECB's control, creating a new...

How to store gold anonymously ?

The well-known Viennese company Das Safe did offer anonymous boxes some years ago. Their boxes are no longer anonymous. It is 2021 and I would be surprised to find any company in Europe doing this. In theory, providing an anonymous vault is no different than providing a luggage storage locker at...

Malaysia My Second Home MM2H Is Set to return

True, and the situation is even worse. At least Cyprus and Australia temporarily denied entry of their own citizens. Imagine being a tax-paying citizen, denied entry to your home country. Stranded abroad, no place to go, struggling to even find a hotel (because hotels were closing), running out...

    Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani

The former Afghan president Hamid Karzai invested 100M USD of his corruption money into Dubai real estate already a decade ago. He was smart to get out while getting is good. Given that CIA, European governments and NGOs wasted hundreds of billions in Afghanistan, there must be a dire need for...

New member, looking for no-name prepaid options

Years ago I had a Polish prepaid card. It was possible to receive money from a crypto exchange to this card. Those were the good days, although I did not realize it at the time :p. I could not find the bank name, and anyway the current EU regulations have a 150 EUR limit on an anonymous card...

Ukraine will release ''e-Residency Ukraine'' program 5% tax income...sound interesting!!! Better like Estonia ???

We seem to be talking about different things. I do not see a foreign bank selling & quitting as a problem if the clients are not screwed in the process. Indeed I gave an example of a Danish bank quitting the Baltics. Erste announced it is withdrawing from Ukraine in late 2012. A sale was...

Ukraine will release ''e-Residency Ukraine'' program 5% tax income...sound interesting!!! Better like Estonia ???

Large European banks have a reputation to protect, hence it takes a really big trouble for them to screw their clients the way you described. A case in point: Danske Bank was badly burned in the Baltic States, but quit in good order without damaging their clients. Unicredit, Raiffeisen, BNP...

Ukraine will release ''e-Residency Ukraine'' program 5% tax income...sound interesting!!! Better like Estonia ???

I proposed a branch of a Western bank in Ukraine precisely to avoid doing business with Ukrainian banks. The same in e.g. Bulgaria or Romania. Also: Come on, it is someone else's barge pole! Does this apply also to Georgia's HNWI residency? As far as I know, that program does not have any...

Ukraine will release ''e-Residency Ukraine'' program 5% tax income...sound interesting!!! Better like Estonia ???

Possibly. I haven't used them in Ukraine (but I have a Raiffeisen account in another country). I was mainly thinking about safety of funds.

McAfee found dead in Spain jail cell

Based on McAfee's behavior over the years, I think he had Schizophrenia. People with that illness can be completely sane for weeks, maybe months. Then they lose it and become totally paranoid and psychotic. If e.g. his money situation was bad, there was not anything too good for him in the...

Ukraine will release ''e-Residency Ukraine'' program 5% tax income...sound interesting!!! Better like Estonia ???

Looks like Ukraine did what Estonia wanted to do with its e-residency, but was unable to. This program looks very streamlined, I hope they later allow in also investors/traders, crypto people etc. I don't see banking as a problem, if one goes with Raiffeisen etc. In total, I've spent about six...

Where to go for vaccine tourism?

Wow, the lengths people will go... I personally try to avoid the vaccine, but will probably have to take it in order to travel. My sister took a Pfizer-Biontech vaccine and got very ill afterwards. She still needs to take a 2nd jab... At this point there certainly is a demand to live in a city...

    Georgia opinions

Regarding Tbilisi vs. Batumi: If I had to choose a city to live in Georgia year-around, it would be Tbilisi. It is a much bigger city with malls, gyms and other stuff. Batumi is lively during the tourist season, but it hibernates from late autumn until late spring. The biggest obstacle for...

New FATF cryptocurrency regulate guidance is totally disaster!

Yes it was, compared to their market cap (currently $50 billion). A long court battle settled with a tiny slap on the wrist, just enough to let the NYAG to keep their faces. Unless the saga continues, it was a clear victory for Tether.

Estonian e-residency background checks to become more thorough

I believe it is only for new applicants. Demanding this from the existing ones would be a very bad idea.

Estonian e-residency background checks to become more thorough

"Future Estonian e-residents will need to provide additional information when applying for a digital ID, pursuant to an order by the minister of the interior stepping into effect from April. ... In order to maintain user friendliness regardless of the increased amount of information requested...

Question about safe deposit box rental

Recovery seed management is a bitch any way you do it, but this looks better than most other alternatives. NGRAVE has a silmilar-ish solution with their steel plates, but their device is sort of expensive and not shipping yet.

    Tax-free residency in Estonia

The claim "Cryptos are not taxed in Portugal" surfaces from time to time. In absence of definite, verified information, my guess (based on this article) is that professional traders will have to pay capital gains tax.
