Digital Nomad Perpetual Traveler + Apartment in Cyprus = tax ?

Sure, exiting Germany's tax system correctly (= giving up the permanent apartment there), and then setting up a PE somewhere else would trigger that § 2 Abs. 1 S. 2 AStG would not be applicable anymore = no taxes owed to Germany. But setting up a PE in another country would trigger taxes to be...

Digital Nomad Perpetual Traveler + Apartment in Cyprus = tax ?

While I really like Christoph (who operates that website), I am sure he is totally wrong on this, and is downplaying that regulation in order to keep selling his "Just create and maintain an US LLC, then just travel the world, so be no tax resident anywhere, and therefore pay 0% taxes"-setup...

Cyprus to raise corporate income tax to 15% for all companies

Or at least increase the threshold significantly, 500K would be ok in my opinion.

Digital Nomad Perpetual Traveler + Apartment in Cyprus = tax ?

It would be not an issue anymore, as the OP recently told us, that he decided to permanently move to Cyprus. But in the beginning of this thread, when he was planning to mostly just travelling, it would have been.

Digital Nomad Perpetual Traveler + Apartment in Cyprus = tax ?

Why is § 2 Abs. 1 S. 2 AStG of the german tax code, which is really nasty and can cause massive problems for digital nomads / perpetual travellers with German citizenship, not being discussed in this thread?

Cyprus to raise corporate income tax to 15% for all companies

Just a few years ago Cyprus lowered the audit requirements for SMEs. If your company has a turnover (or was it profits?) of less denn 200K, you are not required to have a full audit done, it can be just a review of your books, which reduces costs significantly with lower fees for that. No...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Yes, I plan to do now, but not now, only in 2 to 3 years. Before that I need to get some funds with my business to be able to leave. At the moment, going to Cyprus is my first choice, but I'm a bit nervous that their non-dome status may be not in place anymore when I finally can leave.

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Does that also affect the Dutch EMI account another user recommended in this thread? They allow to use an alias. And the new SEPA name check seems to be only checking against the name an account is registered to, if it is matching. And if that Dutch EMI ("Yoursafe") opens and operates your...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Yes, I could do it in such a way, but want to be the account holder of the provided bank details not to be my personal name, but rather my chosen business name / domain name. And my initial question was / is not on how to phrase the wording on the invoice, but to find a bank that lets me open...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

No, I just meant "hiding" only at the section of the invoice, where I would state the bank details for the transfer of the invoice amount. To appear as a "bigger" and more professional company, and also for branding reasons, but at the same time not hiding that the business is a sole...

Mess due to failing Cyprus non-dom eligibility

I'm sorry to dig out this old thread, but could the OP apply for non-dom status later again, or is the rule that once an application is rejected, that decision is final and stands forever?

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

I could try this, but as far as I know (German) banks are rather strict in not allowing personal accounts to be used for business transactions, the occasional business related transfer might be tolerated, but not if you (mis)use a personal account mainly as a business account. They also usually...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

You seem to have misunderstood my post, respectively my intention behind it. It was not to pretend that I'm not a sole proprietor (with full liability), but a corporation (with limited liability), but to give clients a more professional impression when invoicing them, and branding also plays a...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Can you name such banks or EMI which would allow and offer this? For a sole proprietor registered and living in Germany, with multicurrency support (at least for USD, EUR, and GBP) .. But I doubt that this would be so easy, I guess there would be massive KYC hurdles to overcome, as bank will...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Excellent tip, thank you! I had a look at their website, and saw that they give aliases for accounts based on your social media handles, but you need a certain (probably high) follower count to qualify for this. Maybe this holds true only for OUTGOING payments, and not for INCOMING payments...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Yes, actually I'm living in Germany and know this, you are right, but as far as I know that holds true for personal accounts, not so sure for business accounts. I forgot to mention that I would need a multicurrency account (at least for EUR, USD, and GBP), and that rules out most of the...

Bank account or EMI that lets a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of personal name?

Hi all, Do you know any bank account or EMI that allows a freelancer / sole proprietor use a business name (trade name) instead of his personal name? So if, for instance if a person, let's call him "John Smith", is a freelancer / sole proprietor, who offers his services through his (fictive, I...
