China's Opensource Deepseek outperforms OpenAI GPT-4o

Deep Seek's parent company, High-Flyer, is a Chinese hedge fund. Their expertise is primarily focused on trading. So this is not even their final form and they will be able to continue financing it themselves. The scale of Huawei, Alibaba and Tencent cloud services should not be underestimated...

    perfect laptop ;)

Perhaps an iPad with the magic keyboard could be a solution too. The experience is pretty smooth as well, and you can also have a CLI: https://holzschu.github.io/a-Shell_iOS/. I have seen people use it for software engineering as well, where they have a server with vscode. Screen size...

    perfect laptop ;)

Not me personally, as I prefer macbooks. However if I was going to step away from the Apple ecosystem, Framework would be my top choice. A friend of mine has purchased one in 2021, the quality is not on the same level as an Apple device, but it is durable and he is a frequent traveller as...

    perfect laptop ;)

What about getting a framework laptop? Will be a more efficient way to keep it performant in the future: https://frame.work/nl/en/products/laptop13-diy-intel-ultra-1 Some distros work out of the box with it as well.

Are we completely deluded in thinking this could work ?

I do appreciate you sharing your experience so far, but I would not dare to do any p2p trade with you.

Are we completely deluded in thinking this could work ?

The bottleneck is the party paying you. If they are under enough pressure, they will fold and sell you out. It is not uncommon for tax agencies to request owner information of these intermediary companies and investigate them.

Settling vs Nomading: Which Lifestyle Truly Wins?

If you have a strong partner who understands your position, it is possible to combine the lifestyle and raise a family. However your setup also needs to take this into account, either by having the home base in a 'good' jurisdiction or separating family and state.

Donald Trumps Meme Coin sky rocked! Where to buy it?

This happens every couple weeks in crypto. So just stay in relevant Telegram groups and monitor X 24/7 and eventually you can gamble your way to a million.

WTF is now wrong, all cryptos down?

From retired to pausing at least a year. Nothing more addictive than a bullrun.

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

You clearly never leave your computer and crypto bubble. ;) No point in assuming where I have been a part of, and what not. You have mentioned to be part of a failed project, so what makes you credible? My point is that for the problems you have mentioned, there are and will be solutions...

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

I believe the current state will be the future state, with the exception of (slightly) higher conversion fees. I was talking about the physical world and e.g. P2P. The SEC can say and do what they want, that does not mean everybody is subject to their rules. In regards to DeFi, some sanctioned...

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

Speaking from experience, I've never used such a solution and always go through exchanges with proper documentation, but there are plenty of people who have been operating this way for years with success. Claiming that a solution is faulty, while it works for a lot of people with significant...

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

If your point is off-ramping, then there are plenty of solutions to use. Either directly in transactions, or through the right solution providers. Using exchanges is the lazy way.

All the time, but you might have to specify your point. ;)

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

Don't use exchanges and you can use crypto exactly the way it was intended to be used ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    ApplePay and anonymity

Probably used for behaviour analysis purposes, so the transaction can be tied to Apple Pay or a legitimate Apple device. But the data concerning the specific Apple Pay user resides with Apple only.

    ApplePay and anonymity

Banks will see the terminal where payment was done, and that it was done through Apple Pay. If there is no reason to cluster your transactions together, they won't assume they are both the same device/person.

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

Thanks for the example, but still... what does your lack of controlling IP and retaining personnel have to do with BTC? I understand your point, but you have even worse people wielding more power in the 'FIAT world'.

The future of Bitcoin and crytocurrencies

The reason the 'traditional' powers are trying to control BTC is simple: they don't control it. Bitcoin is THE ASSET to hold, and XMR is THE CURRENCY to transact in. Together, they form one of the most censorship-resistant setups available, especially if you avoid exchanges entirely. Seeing...
